four multi-purpose, innovative tracks from the assemble music family. mike shannon takes the pace right down on pimp limp to stunning effect, weaving together tweaked pads and a deep, tripping bass with the tightest of drum sounds, developing an irresistible, effortless groove. aloe varu (aka dan andrei) takes the shuffle up a notch on shifty, evoking classic herbert with cut-up jazz samples and bumping, stop-start percussion. nicola kazimir nods to another master, jan jelinek aka farben, on reductive ford, channeling the latters contemplative, intricate and emotive programming. finally voigtmanns muff shuffler does, well, exactly that, shuffling along with a minimal vibe enhanced with fine atmospherics.

a quest for form which is never static and accompanied by two constants - repetition and reduction. reduction requires repetition in order to make the intangible tangible for man. this repetition also stimulates our perception and helps us find an inner self while illuminating towards the primal thought. another synonym for *intangible* is *not human* - for the most reductive of primal thoughts, sprung from fractal chance, does not deal with human beings but with a formal language that is universal, drawing from the innermost, and only becomes tangible in accidental, fortuitous moments.

this is the second release by antonelli for dreck after his boogie ep in 2007. in classic antonelli working method the material here is made without a cpu, just with hardware. this gives the tracks a warm feel and a sense of an older mode of production, but nevertheless the two tracks are fully rooted in the now! stefan schwander starts out with the idea of the bassline as a genre-defining element in music. he then works from this central idea towards an euphoric and a reductive version, resulting in the two tracks here at hand, >disconnected< on the a side, and >operatore< on the b side. they both feature a beautifully analogue disco (if not moroder) bassline, build up continuously without ever meandering or loosing direction - very straight and pushing the dancefloor forward with >operatore< being the more bouncy and carefree track of the two.
