„spectral decay” is a collection of musical reflections about the paradoxical contemporary state of humankind, whereas its own technological, social, cultural and economical development seems to entrench the possible points of a structura downfall. the narrative of „spectral decay” starts with heavy, mesmerizing industrial vibes. due to the notable sound design techniques of japanese artist tetsumasa, his hefty piece „nex” evolves into a harsh but still amazingly cinematical music sculpture. subsequent mid-tempo composition „onzour shayatini” by meer dynamically follows the dark, experimental path of drone and noisy structures. violent accents smoothly lead to the deconstruction of drum & bass patterns and turn into strident 90s metal riffs. the track progressively penetrates obscure subterranean abysses and becomes a perfect introduction to the next theme by yuji kondo – „hades”. in greek mythology hades was the ancient god of the underground kingdoms, darkness, death and metals. therefore, kondo’s music piece turns into an infernal portrayal of the underworld where tenebrous layers of bass frequencies, raw textures and drexciyan sounds build up an enormous and lasting tension. side b begins with the track „anthropocene” produced by arboretum co-founder – mogano. the whole composition refers to the present geological epoch we live in, characterized by environmental pollutions, depletion of fossil fuels and accelerated urbaniza- tion of the world. it is a deeply conceptual soundscape of a powerful system, that incorporates both – the destructive forces of technology and the infinite energy of the whole universe, that interweave in a devilish dance of post-techno, breakbeat and dub tones. thereafter, ~raw in his piece „poly bios” pictures the interference of human structures in the nature. creating a mosaic from indus- trial and tribal, organic sounds, he tells a mystical story of fear, hope, escape and primeval instincts. the narration concludes with an atmospheric composition of nwrmntc – solo project of ana quiroga from experimental ambient duet lcc. „beyond” is a boundless, spectral reflection on collective human consciousness, where haunting vocals evoke a recon- dite, ineffable pain, leaving the listeners in a profoundly meditative state. laura polan&#769,ska

schuko ep is the second release from the lyon (france) based label aiia recordings, which without surprise is still speaking about techno. the release is signed by the german duo schutzkontakt, with one member from dualit, who uses violent and reverbering kicks on konter and latenz, completed by a deep and sweet melody on frage, whether by different layers of indus samples. the most relevant feeling by listening this four-track ep is that it brings you between hard and soft moments, but still in a mighty state of mind, thanks to the intensity put by schutzkontakt in schuko ep. even if everything slacken when zyllinder comes with its more groovy and acid rhythms after the two precedent techno-indus tracks.

for this beginning of the year caramelo has picked up for you some fresh sounds coming from his labels boss kosme and his new talent from the followed scene of vienna: perrez. this 3rd ep has many influences as it is the spirit of the label. *love sensation* from perrez sounds like a house anthem, a very groovy track with this never-ending piano and the fabulous voice of lh! his 2nd track *de l ame* is made with all his vibrations and his emotions for music, straight to the danceflloor with this funky bass and deep elements and of course: what a rhythm! on the flip, the lyons most wanted dj and producer kosme show here his house and dub sides. you can feel the beauty of kosmes house dub on *bonobo house* with also those synths used to bring this track on the heaven! *bear with a beard* is a house track with a touch of indus groove and a rhythm who made you slave of it!

here is finally the first single from yakine, a close member to the eklo family. after his featuring on the hooksey vol.1, he gave us four tracks which he worked specially for this ep. yakine explored a new sound, some more melodic and deeper works, different from his usual stuff. captor of sin, the main track here. we find yakine in a more pop dimension with the vocals. the metric rhythm is mix it up with sub and perky shuffle grooves, everything harmonized through a lead ambiance made of weird synts & pads. then shirp, lead from synths, the track go on in the same vibe, more excentric and percussive, rounded beat, and a slap bass, 80s funk type. on the flip, temptation, a more singular track, a great detroit techno influenced, with his unusual keys and some indus sounds. the story ending with aferone, a deep and sensitive balad, overhang by a poetic piano coming and going all along. solid and versatile 12 inch.
