nein, audio88 ist immer noch nicht gut gelaunt. ja, er brüllt, schimpft und hält mit seinen aggressionen nicht hinter dem berg. aber es gilt mehr denn je, ein missverständnis auszuräumen: der ganze menschenhass, der sich seinen weg in die texte von audio88 bahnt, ist kein selbstzweck. audio88 hasst menschen für ihre intoleranz, für ihre irrationalen Ängste und fehlgeleiteten prioritäten. er kämpft gegen doppelmoral und egozentrismus und nimmt davon weder den hörer noch sich selbst aus.
wenn die musik von audio88 auf der ep „sternzeichen hass“ ausdrücklich politischer anmutet als noch vor ein paar jahren, ist das nur logisch für einen künstler, der auf seine umgebung reagiert. das zugrundeliegende wertesystem verändert sich nicht, die präsenz der feindbilder in gesellschaft und politik dafür um so mehr.

war „strw“ bisher eine mixtape-reihe, würde die bezeichnung dem werk nicht gerecht werden! lukas strobel schlüpft wieder in die verschiedensten rollen und arbeitet sich an stereotypen und vorurteilen ab, wie in der konsequenz in seiner karriere nicht geschehen. bereits im videotrailer zum album mimt alligatoah die rollen seiner karriere. außerdem tauchen neue gesellinnen auf und ergänzen das bild. die szenerie baut sich auf, bis ein herr mit einer grubenlampe ruft: „was ist, wenn wir gar nicht real sind, sondern nur die verschiedenen persönlichkeiten eines wahnsinnigen?“ alligaotah zeigt sein weltwackelbild. wenn draußen alles verrückt, haben die gestalten des rap-barden ihre festen plätze. sei es der feminist, der seiner liebe einen rap-track widmet, der reise-hippie, der sich in der welt sucht, ein detektiv, der durch den nebel der vergangenen nacht watet oder der meinungsfreie demonstrant, der auch gehör finden will. schafft es der künstler also bei der fünften ausgabe seiner „schlaftabletten, rotwein“-welt wirklich noch etwas hinzuzufügen? die antwort könnte sie unterhalten, verunsichern und zur selbstreflexion zwingen.

im jahr 2013 veröffentlichte sinan49 in eigenregie das mixtape -4zuder9-, welches einen kleinen hype erzeugte. einige labels sowie künstler, unter anderem nate57, wurden darauf aufmerksam. rattos locos lud sinan49 ein als support mit nate57 auf die -land in sicht- tour zu gehen, und 2016 ging sinan49 erneut mit nate57 auf -gauna tour-. durch einen freund bahnte sich parallel der kontakt zu brisk fingaz und gee futuristic an. in zusammenarbeit mit den beiden produzenten entstand das album -mitte des blocks-. das album ist ein an den 90er jahre east coast sound orientiertes, düsteres und dreckig produziertes album, welches einheitlich und ohne ausreißer einen roten faden durch die produktionen zieht, die von brisk fingaz & gee futuristic stammen. die texte sind ehrlich, gespickt mit nachdenklichen, realistischen themen, die ihn umgeben und zuständen, in denen sinan lebt: keine Übertreibungen oder phantasiethemen, einfach gerade wirklichkeit.

the new, first time ever on vinyl 2lp reissue of a long way around to a shortcut is somehow a greatest hits of the golden not quite decade of sic alps. well, not quite golden, either. can gold be tarnished? can it be done on purpose? if so, sic alps are artisans of the highest order - for their music is the bright, surging sound of ye olde rock & roll radio (and the garages that tuned in) heard through air darkened with specks of nameless obstruction. in and amongst their ingrown sounds, sic alps take on classic tunes from strapping field hands, throbbing gristle and the zipps on a long way around to a shortcut. it is to their credit that they completely absorb their estimated predecessors and create the only sound left to them: the sound of the sic alps. a long way around to a shortcut was issued as a cd in 2008. it collected songs that were first issued throughout the epic years of 2006 and 2007 on two 12inch eps, three 7inch singles and a cassette, plus a song from a compilation cd r and a song exclusive to this compilation. the records were originally given titles like united, strawberry guillotine, semi streets, hip hop sweepers vol 1, teenage alps, and the soft tour in rough form, but all these original releases are long gone.

bruce springsteens heartland ist new jersey. das von conor oberst nebraska. und thees uhlmanns herzland heißt niedersachsen. und wie seine beiden kollegen ist auch der tomte-saenger gefangen zwischen liebe und hass fuer die provinz. so etwa im song -lat. 53.7 lon 9.11667-, der gleichzeitig lob- und abgesang auf seine heimat ist. uhlmann legt auf seinem ersten soloalbum mehr wert aufs storytelling und nimmt einen mit auf eine reise von paris im herbst bis nach rom in truemmern, von guenter grass zu jay-z (mit casper). in uhlmanns herzland ist platz fuer nackte priester und aufgemotzte autos. der rock ist weniger indie, gibt sich stattdessen breiter und opulenter. es muss nicht immer die gitarre sein, die den weg vorgibt. warum nicht mal ein klavier? oder ein beat? ein bass, ein paar blaeser? oder alles zusammen? insgesamt mehr us- als brit-rock, mehr tamtam als tomte. uhlmann und produzent tobias kuhn schoepfen aus dem vollen und klopfen an den wall of sound, bis es staubt, kracht und wackelt.
