machen wir uns nichts vor, wir haben es hier mit einem stolzen vater zu tun. und eigentlich muss man mindestens alben von sting und den dire straits in seinem plattenschrank haben, um zum vati rock dazuzugehören. solch ein vater ist snaevar njáll albertsson aber gar nicht. dad rocks ausrufezeichen steht eher für das gegenteil eines vaters, der seine kinder mit musik aus seiner generation plagt. snaevars inspirationen kommen aus der gegenrichtung: sie erwachsen aus seinen engsten beziehungen, wie der zu seiner kleinen tochter. pathos, ironie und modernes vater-sein bringt der isländische musiker nun auf seinem inzwischen zweiten album >mount modern< zusammen.

summer has all but gone as the darkness draws in, the clocks go back, and fina records releases something a little different for the night owls. cosmic dutch space cadets morning factory step up for fina 005 with a slow motion rhythm and tone ep. having previously appeared for yore records and brother from another mother 2020 vision, the guys have been busy in the windmill whittling a perfect autumn release. sultans of swing ep doesnt quite shadow dire straits but it certainly delivers. hypnotic title track of the same name is features futureproof basslines, layered with an enigmatic drowning echo-led synth while >lady< adds a different finish to the wax. here we find d angelo s 96 vocal hook effortlessly breaking through the shuffling punchy bass.

a rare conundrum ist 1977 wieder in england aufgenommen worden. bert jansch hat das album zusammen mit seinen kumpels rod clemens (bass/lindisfarne), pick withers (drums/der spaeter zu dire straits wechselte) sowie mike piggott (violin) aufgenommen.dieses album stellt f?r jansch eine kuenstlerische rueckkehr zu seinen folk wurzeln dar, es bietet wunderschoene folk instrumentals, sowie irische traditionals als auch langsame bluesstuecke an.
