deichbullen war die kleine, selbstproduzierte indie-webserie von regisseur michael söth, in der 2 hamburger polizisten hinter den deich versetzt werden, um auf den mysteriösesten fall ihres lebens zu stoßen. eine großartig, langsam erzählte story.nachdem die dbs unerwartet mehrere internationale preise und nominierungen erhalten haben, war es den machern nun möglich mit der unterstützung von studio hamburg eine ausgewachsene erste staffel zu produzieren. mit dabei in einer der hauptrollen: staatsaktkünstler reverend christian dabeler, der gemeinsam mit helge dube die songs zur serie geschrieben hat.

mathew jonsons decompression was first released on minus in 2004. to celebrate 13 years since its release mathew has commissioned 11 artists to remix this classic split over 4 releases. the first ep of the series features remixes from dbridge, konrad black and nathan jonson, each artists contribution provides a fresh approach to a package fuelled by the influence of drum & bass. dbridge steps up for two remixes, the first is warped and deconstructed, the second a high energy drum & bass belter. konrad black slows things down with a darker groove whilst nathan jonsons rewind to 96 utilises rave tropes and chopped vocal samples. the package is a magnificent addition to the legacy of decompression and coming next will be remixes from seth troxler, deadbeat, mike shannon and natalia escobar. mathew jonsons decompression was first released on minus in 2004. this is the first release on mathew jonsons new label entitled freedom engine mastered at scape mastering
remixes from max cooper (traum) and marc romboy (systematic). long awaiting >what happened?< reworks. cooper mix strips it back and works the house floor hot and heavy. bass pushes the dbs to the max. romboy turns it inside and out. growling madness. over stepped.
for the second release on ki records we invited a very special and talented artist from japan to join our label. daisuke tanabe, who studied art in tokyo and london, has been producing music for the last 13 years. various releases on zero dbs fluid ounce label and an impressive amount of remixes for gilles petersons brownswood imprint have proven daisuke tanabes versatility and talent for modern experimental electronic music. as a live act and dj, he performed with gilles peterson, onra, tim exile, hudson mohawke and clark. we decided to dare a leap into a more experimental way by publishing his outstanding flowers on a wall. the four-track ep will be released in august 2009 (500 copies ww on limited vinyl), simultaneously to his first album on japans circulation records.
