hefty remix package of “carbone master system” lp pressed on gold-coloured vinyl. veterans and contemporary artists such as and, ascion, cj bolland, hypnoskull, and umwelt have reshaped five different tracks of the infamous album.

d. carbone’s first album “carbone master system” is a collection of powerful techno tracks incorporating elements of rawness, acidity, and melancholy at the focus of his intent. bringing together the feeling and the passion that the sega master system brought to him in his youth. time was lost mesmerized by technology and excitement for the quest of the unknown.

carbone records has been created as a platform for d. carbone’s own powerful productions and for new collaborative projects. carbon as an element represents darkness and energy which represents the concept and the sound of the label. the aim is to focus on a no compromise, raw, acid techno sound of the 90’s.

although the artist has spent 2015 honing the discographies of his other projects, “ravers” comes after a silent year for the d. carbone moniker which in turn gives it all the more impact. the “class of ‘87” dj and producer’s first mini-album is dedicated to everyone interested in the ecstatic sounds of 90’s rave culture. on “ravers”, d. carbone distances himself from the functional perception that techno indicates a fairly narrow tempo range. instead, he approaches it more freely by returning to earlier formulations.

after three years, ascion and d.carbone return with *substructures*, their most experimental release to date on their label 3th. the a-side of this record holds two droney offbeat tracks, *ram expedients* and *lo-fi fields*, combining a rare/abstract and genuine mix of middle-eastern electronics, cyberpunk and uk warehouse techno. the b-side contains the tracks that are responsible for the nomenclature of this release: *substructures one/two*. being more oriented to genres such as idm and rave techno, they are characterized by powerful beats and cutting edge ambients and vocals. both tracks have been recorded during one of their live performances in london 2013.

spectrum recordings returns after the summer months with a fantastic deep dark two tracker to take us into those shorter nights of the year from italian duo ascion & davide carbone. the a side >shaved< is a stripped down dubby groover, with eerie vocal stabs and spacey edits. this has a seriously tripped out vibe, which is perfect for the after hours, but still with more then enough punch to work at peak time, with some layered percussion or effects. the flip side >spectral town< is a minimal funky track, superbly produced and once again perfect for the after hours. a very cool and classy record from a label stamping its mark on the scene, and still only in its first year of releasing music. look out for future releases from ramon tapia, gui boratto and alan fitzpatrick. big things to come!

repitch’s latest releases is a full-on acid assault, a distorted analog techno speedwagon driven by label co-founder d.carbone along with panzerkreuz affiliate and rave veteran albert van abbe. side a is composed of two tracks produced by van abbe and paul van ghent under the guise of his most unapologetic acid project penik etteck. recorded between 1998 and 2000, it is a duo of incendiary bangers made for no other purpose than pumping energy into the rave. on the flip side, van abbe’s youngest project datasmok sides with d.carbone for two more tracks ripe with acid basslines, heavily distorted drums, and noisy drones, speeding up the tempo on the first one and slowing it down on the second in order to explore the many dynamic possibilities of raving.

there are depths in humanity which one cannot explore, as there are mephitic caverns into which one dare not penetrate. madness in any direction, at any hour. the anatomy of human destructiveness, a hole like a sewage drain for the fine clear coat of civilisation, a place where the eye wanders and the lip jerks and drools. if there is such a dark moloch which deviously knots a thread within us, with which to hold us and draw us down an eerie and delirious path that we would never otherwise have set foot on, then d. carbone’s mephistophelian alter ego honzo pulls us with his 4th installment “distopia - un mondo indesiderabile” right into its gaping abyss, leading us there where we would have never consented to go.
panic. it creeps up the spine like the rst rising vibes of an acid frenzy. the haunting chill upon your neck. there is a sound intensity makes while echoing through the body, the epinephrine pumping through the jugular vein, voices from unknown origin, the blood throbbing through the numb extremities, heart palpitations, the flashing visions, cold sweat, the heavy breathing, hyperventilation, dissociation, fight-or-flight. honzo gives us a vision of what it means to truly be in a world of terror and angst and in the secret bloodlit dark behind our eyes we enjoy the cathartic abreaction this brings us.

der in texas geborene rhythmus- und bluesgitarrist melvin sparks war einer der großen des soul-jazz. melvin spielte mit lou donaldson, leon spencer, bernard purdie, jack mcduff, jimmy mcgriff, idris muhammad, dr. lonnie smith, charles earland, grover washington jr., reuben wilson und so vielen mehr. auch in den leisesten jahren des soul-jazz blieb melvin durch hip-hop und r&b aktuell. diese veröffentlichung dokumentiert melvins letzte band, nur wenige monate vor seinem tod. der organist beau sasser und schlagzeuger bill carbone arbeiteten seit einigen jahren mit sparks zusammen. die tracks auf diesem album, liebevoll gemischt von gitarrist, produzent und melvin sparks-fan eddie roberts, zeigen, dass melvin auch in den letzten monaten seines lebens wie zu jeder zeit spielte.

its not often you hear a techno record produced by a total of five people. when it happens, it’s usually to mark a passage and make a statement. sometimes it is a matter of celebrating a rita of passage, a shift into maturity and the embodiment of a new skin. this is what repitch is doing with the fourth and final installment in their “features” series, reuniting all the crew for the the final blast of what’s been a long and massive barrage of heavy techno. this is the collaboration to end them all: repitch founders ascion, d. carbone and shapenoise have shared the studio with longtime allies and. together, they explore a common ground made of pounding metallic percussions, gutwrenching bass and thick, furious grooves, with each producer bringing his own peculiar contributions to the table. this last installment marks the end of a process that accompanied repitch throughout its whole existence, thus enhancing the beginning of a new chapter in the label’s creative output.

lucindo returns for his 2nd release on 3th records which he runs with ascion and d. carbone. alien rebellion enters with atmospheric textures and strings rising from the abyss into a new world of deep tension and emotion. once the dust has settled, we enter full out attack with industrial rhythms, ruffled percussion and acidic lazer beams. the journey continues along paths unknown, dark underlying elements of the alien attack is upon us, insanity and anxiety enter the inner dimensions of the mind. the chase is on and battle commences as we feel the power and the energy of the sonic weaponry. as we make it through the other side we feel cosmic clouds of waveforms encapsulate us, as we make our homeward journey.

d carbone returns to the prruk imprint with a strong 12 called acid futurism. the name says it all. fresh acid sounds without going too retro. psych techno sound with strong syncopated rhythms. something for the more intense dancefloor moments, a definite bomb.
