the first venture featured david meiser, ross alexander, jake conlon and kereni, picking up support from luminaries such as bas mooy, radial, sunil sharpe, rebekah, dj hyperactive, thomas hessler and many more.

after the late nite, neon-red funk of his last release the digital fantasy (which picked up support from the likes of benji b, alexander nut & ross allen), quaid returns with a new ep: cfe. ain contrast to the strung out, hazy eroticism of the digital fantasy, here the heart rate has elevated and the signals pushed further into the red nightlyfe best illustrates this with its rough hats, minor chords and irrepressible rhythm. body forms is a nod back to the hydraulic, locked funk of quaid s previous releases, whilst tango offers huerco s style synths under subverted prince housequake-era drums.a 99percent weaves around a driving bass algorithm and the insistent vocal refrain supplied by longtime collaborator dziko.atheres a change in mood here, the night has passed and sunrise is moments away. lights on tomorrows horizon glint endless glass, dust and chrome.

ross alexander payne has always been interested in the earth and its relationship to all in its vicinity, this includes earths place within the universe, and the presence upon earth of both natural and manmade systems and processes. drift and expansion are tracks designed to represent a view of earth from space. it was previously believed that the earth was expanding and thus the continental land masses were moving as a result of this process. modern scientific evidence does not support this idea, and the theory of plate tectonics is now almost universally accepted. this ep represents a view of the idea of these two disparate theories as if taken from the direct space around earth. ross explains in his words >everything i do, be it music related or otherwise, is driven by this fascination with the universe around me, the quest to discover this universe and the desire to expand my knowledge of all within it<

2009 was a great year for these days records, and 2010 promises to be even better. the platform stood out for its innovative yet functional club sound and unique artwork concepts. the new year begins with a new split series under the name universal consciousness, based on the idea of connection between all things, and that all things have been coordinated, and they combine to make up the same universe. the first part is dedicated to two very different takes on spiritual, cosmic space techno. on the a-side argys >sometimes im blind< generates a long and uplifting emotional climax, which features a solo that will forever stay in your heart. the track was recorded at the end of 2008, and despite numerous offers to release the record elsewhere, nothing was finalised and the recording never saw the light of day. soon after the birth of his own label, it naturally fit the platform and seemed a perfect way to start the new year. on the flip side, sheffield born alexander ross, brings forth a cavernous techno piece awash with reverberation and spacial echos that brings a driving yet non the less emotionally captivating moment perfectly in balance with the depth of the a-side.
