just a classic!

this is my best album for sure, says todd. we cant be exactly sure on that one, all three albums from todd bodine have been great. forms however, is perhaps the most complex and mature album that the berlin producer and dj has accomplished to date. and its also out with us! todd has worked at full speed over the last six months to bring us this fine piece of work.

yes, it comes full circle- fuckponys long-player for ravers in love and for raved out lovers who are still going long after peak time. a self-contained album with powerful melodic arches and a great dramatic underscoring of house, embedded in tradition but not dwelling on the past. ten tracks, each unique and self-sufficient, held together through love: the love of music, of house, of berlin, of parties, of all of you out there. so in this sense, love it also! real love is forever...

like hardly any other contemporary dj, catherine britton aka cassy is living at the interfaces between reduction and soul, jazzy deep house and geometrically structured techno. and it comes as no surprise, because being the english-born daughter of a caribbean father and an austrian mother, cassy started at a very early age to develop a sense for artistic aesthetics that draws its special magic from the >in-between< especially. being resident in berlin since 2003, she quickly gained a residence at the panorama bar, worked as a producer with such renowned musicians like ricardo villalobos, luciano, mathew jonson or swayzak and releases her music on labels such as perlon, ostgutton as well as on her own imprint cassy. simply devotion, cassys 2nd mix cd after the highly acclaimed panorama bar 01 compilation is a proof of her love for deep house of a different kind, which has - despite occasional flashes of souly vocals - nothing to do with garage house and handbag factor

the smallville collective has injected a real breath of fresh air into the house music scene. after launching their record shop in hamburg city in 2005 they invited the most sophisticated artists of the european and american underground scene- such as jus- ed, keith worthy, shinedoe, sleeparchive, omar s, baby ford & thomas melchior and many more to play at hamburgs love-spreading allnighters.

the fifteenth release on minimal wave, presented with original artwork on the cover, is stereos >somewhere in the night< cd. two of the tracks: somewhere in the night and no more first appeared on their 12inch releases in 1982 and 1983 respectively, and are now highly sought after. both tracks became cult dance floor hits, and received radio airplay in europe and the us throughout the 80s until now. the rest of the cd brings together the french bands best studio recordings from 1982-1985. the cd is presented in a digipak, includes a card insert with photos of the band, and all copies are hand-numbered. the cd includes 2 bonus tracks.

kings of jump is thò label of the hard generation in jump & tek. originally from the north of france but very popular in benelux as well. the labels tracks are played by all djs from the jump scene at all major events like bassleader, reverze, tomorrowland, decibel... the artists of the label are invited to play in big clubs (complex, la bush, lagoa, the oh, metroplis) & festivals (defqon, qbase, love parade...). 2 years after the foundation, the label represents all artists with a main influence in the jump scene, like a.o. chicago zone, ronald-v, gave, wordenz, e-max.

final song goes to the very heart of musics spiritual dimension by asking a number of musicians to select their ideal last song, either to serenade their final moments or to memorialize them after the fact. the participating artists deserve to be commended for their openness: theyre responding to one of the most personal questions one could ask. (several of those approached declined to take part- taboos are taboos, after all.)
