2019 repress - flofilz ist bereits seit einiger zeit einer unserer lieblingsproduzenten - der maestro des jazzy boom bap, der nebenbei noch professionaler orchestermusiker ist. glücklicherweise sehen das seit einiger zeit immer mehr leute so: 40.000 folgen ihm auf soundcloud.com, majestic hat bereits vier seiner tracks hochgeladen. um so mehr freut es uns, dass es nun ein erstes release auf jakarta gibt, mit gästen wie blu, ivan ave und barney artist.

after the amazing view from above ep on frantic flowers we simply couldnt resist to do another project with this guy. detroit legend terrence dixon, the mastermind behind population one, is a genius in the field of minimalism and reduction. as a truly unique character from the early detroit techno era, always being true to his own style, this ep brings 4 new cuts in his typical and recognizable sound. minimalistic monotone rhythms and weird loop constructions, always with the right tension in place, sometimes topped off with spoken words. on the title track i program my computer right, a weird guitar loaded affair, terrence dixon is accompanied by ulandra & tiaria, supplying the vocals. again a very collectible release on frustrated funks harbour city sorrow!

in june 2011 subtext recordings was restarted after a six year hiatus for the release of the second lp from emptyset, titled >demiurge<. this album represented a transition from the first two subtext releases, a pair of seminal experimental recordings from the groundbreaking duo vexd, switching path into a new terrain that allowed for the distortion and dissolution of the sequencer grid and shifted the focus of the label from the programmed to the composed.
through this development subtext recordings has evolved into a conversation between emptyset, the ex-vexd artist roly porter, and composer paul jebanasam, who has spearheaded the revival of the label. this new release continues this dialogue by commissioning both porter and jebanasam to respond to the material contained within >demiurge< and develop their own interpretations of the original album.

keith tucker is back for his second release on diametric. as optic nerve. again he delivers an ep full of trademark optic nerve funk and futurism, combining deep techno with haunting vocals and machine rhythms. from the fast paced opener >virtual depth perception< to the deep and otherworldly >retina display scan< this record showcases all the beauty of the optic nerve universe. included are the 3 dimension interludes plus the acappella version of >virtual depth perception<.
