der detroiter dj/produzent ryan elliott machte sich als berghain/panorama bar-resident und mit releases auf ostgut ton und ghostly international einen namen in der techno-szene. sein groove betontes, ansprechendes fabric-set meistert er mit stil und bravour, indem er aus unterschiedlichsten strukturen und klangfarben nicht-lineare sequenzen baut, die dem mix erlauben sich über 70 minuten aufzubauen und abzuebben, ohne an intensität zu verlieren und den geneigten hörer darüber rätseln lassen, mit welcher leichtigkeit sich ryan elliott durch solch heterogenes terrain navigiert.

ostgut ton reissues neun of zehn with original tracks by ben klock and ryan elliott as well as len faki revisiting rainbow delta. 2015 marked ostgut tons ten-year anniversary, celebrated with an extensive 30 track compilation release, titled ostgut ton | zehn, spread out over ten 12inch vinyl records housed inside a limited box set. this sampler sold out in no time, which is why ostgut ton is re-issuing these ten 12inches individually in 2016. without any doubt, the best klubnacht moments are when dancers let go in trance not peak time, not big hitters, its the subtle nuances that matter. ben klocks first solo production in six years on a internalises this formula: a simple beat, pulsing sirens, a shimmering melody, some sprinkling flute notes and ben’s your uncle. sirens is a pure, hypnotic cut, shrewd and stylish. on b1 ryan elliott underlines why he has been playing both of berghains floors regularly: smith lake is somewhere along the lines of micro techno/macro house, something living inbetween musical worlds and floors, combining tribalist bongo percussion with ethereal synth pads and a delicate bassline. is it safe to say that rainbow delta is a modern classic? because it is! on b2 len faki revisits his 2007 release in form of a stripped-down, bare-naked and intimate ambient version. a modern classic, turned seren

ryan elliott presents his second 12 inch ep for ostgut ton. his groovy us-sound is still present in these new productions and the stepmode ep builds a bridge between euphoria and darkish club moments.

ryan elliott has long been our not-so-secret weapon, lending his curatorial mastery to the massive spectral sound vol. 3 compilation, megamixingspectral 25, and of course by representing on turntables the world over. but after a mere handful of remix credits, he charges out of the gates with his first spectral production, kicking up. deep bass and snares hurtle ever forward, assisted by occasional, faint sonic flourishes and a bevy of throwback vocal loops, but is otherwise devoid of sustained melody. if nothing impedes the supercharged, supersexual, super-detroit momentum of kicking up, the stablo no. remix dials back the tech and pushes its house to the fore. shakers, claps, echo and a whole lot of lateral motion imbues elliott s take-no-prisoners original with a surprising conviviality.

the latest addition to the ostgut roster, detroits ryan elliott, is a recognised force on the international dj circuit - yet his productions are few and far between. now re-located in berlin, the new berghain resident contributed his track >abatis< to the >fünf< anniversary compilation, setting the tone with dark and brooding techno undercurrents. these two new tracks bring ryans production skills to the fore, both slow burning and refined recordings that show off his love for bassline-led, straight forward club tools.

following on from david morales appearance on the label earlier this year, rekids tap up shed and ryan elliott for a pair of percussive reimaginations. well known for remixes of the thompson twins, shawn christopher, clive griffin and the pet shop boys, morales red zone moniker was conceived during the def mix legends formative years at the renowned club sharing the same name. 50 weapons and monkeytowns shed adopts his head high alter ego for a remix that draws the originals vocals into the spotlight before planting thunderous kick drums beneath whilst dusty pads operate above. meanwhile, ostgut ton affiliate ryan elliott crafts a reimagination that incorporates breaky percussion, a rumbling low end and sweeping astral synths.

fresh off the back of john jastszebskis celebrated work ep, d julzs bass culture records returns with a unique and varied double a-side featuring collaborations between berghain mainstay ryan elliott, label regular alex picone and the everinfluential analogue cops.

its the idea of doing an analogue only version of peoples interpretations of songs that they chose off of the album. so i approached four of my favourite producers of the moment that i felt fitted with the whole project. luke solomon

vinyl edition (7x12inch) is limited to 1500 copies ww!!! ostgut ton releases this unique compilation of music crafted from field recordings made inside the two berlin clubs berghain and panorama bar. the concept and original recordings were made by the berlin based producer emika. over a period of two months emika created the recordings in the clubs while they were closed to the public and edited them into a library of sounds. the library was then given to all the ostgut ton artists, but also to club associates like dj pete aka substance, dinky, cassy, margaret dygas, ryan elliott and scuba using his scb alias, to make music with. this release marks the celebration of the labels five year anniversary!!
