das label bbrwd entspringt einer kooperation zwischen den künstlern ta-ku (nz), repeat pattern (jp) und dem label jakarta records (de). der label-compilation -brrwd love vol.1- folgt nun auf dem ersten solo release des labels der japanische künstler -yagi- mit seiner -bellwoods- ep. in tokyo ist er seit vielen jahren ein teil der vitalen beat-szene und dort kreuzten sich auch die wege von ta-ku, repeat pattern & yagi. die ep entstand hauptsächlich in toronto, kanada und bewegt sich zwischen experimentellen ambient- klängen und hiphop beats.

brrwd ist ein joint-venture label von ta-ku, seinem wegbegleiter repeat pattern und jakarta records. als ersten release haben die beiden dazu eine label-compilation ins leben gerufen. diese markiert auch den 2. release von ta-ku mit jakarta records. er selbst wird auf 2 tracks auch mit seiner stimme vertreten sein. das neue label veröffentlichte bereits 2015 das no.sleep (fotoband) projekt der beiden produzenten. dieses behandelte einen 24h trip durch die stadt tokyo und genau hier setzt die compilation 2016 thematisch an. die folgende 10-inch reihe auf brrwd wird von ta-ku & repeat pattern kuratiert & mäandert zwischen loops und fotografie mit künstlern aus ihrem umfeld, wie pink sifu, malik abdoul-rahmaan, yagi, abhi/dijon & submerse. das 10 inch vinyl erscheint inklusive downloadcode.
