having released a number of tracks for on level no zero, cocoon, escapism and tanzbar, the german guy from frankfurt, matt star finally breaks on our rounqube musik dropping his own ep after the appearance on the 2x12 roundqube family anniversary. radio ep is a crazy minimal microphunk four-tracker with 3 originals with precious bouncy remix of the main track reworked by the label ambassadors gabriele carasco and francesco passantino.

on a you find >be the one for me< a masterpiece of music from matt star. it is a deep melodical expedition thru his sound, which he calls microphunk.
the track >nightfalls< on b1 comes from labelowner danjel esperanza, its his typical slinky melonimal sound which he stands for ... as always deep extensive involved melodys for the dancefloor.
on b2 we welcome wigbert to our meleon artists, he is also a member of the mainkollektiv. and wigbert rounds up this classy vinyl with a song called >ambience<a warm journey to the sun, perfect for sundowns for places like café del mar.

after the first year of life rooted continues this 2016 with their various artists series. this time the release comes with leiris from minibar, dakpa from amam, the well known matt star from cocoon and the talent jonas sella from the untold histories. 4 underground quality tracks ready for the dancefloors.

rooted series is back after summer with this third release, as every release the project continues with 4 track v/a on vinyl only format, this time comes with great and well known artists, side a with matt star (cocoon/rawax)and label boss bolumar (rooted), side b with patrice meiner (sol asylum/luna records) and chad andrew (dissonant/tini & the gang). four different tracks to play in every set.

although still relatively young, matt star started his career in the late nineties followed by his first vinyl release in 2006. his music has since appeared on the likes of hypercolour, cocoon, repeat music, rawax and many more. following an appearance on the label as part of our latest mix cd (leftback vol.1) matt now joins the leftback roster for his first full ep on the label accompanied by a remix by label heads michael mclardy & dudley strangeways

it was a little bit quite around the wirrwarr label in the last few years, as the boys focused on other projects like building up an bookingagency, a 2nd recordshop, new labels and for sure producing new music. now they are back with some fresh and crazy minimal techno tracks. on a1 we have mr. wigbert with his first appeareance on wirrwarr, a2 comes from labelhead locke in cooperation with mc shaver. b1 is a freaky brain damaging minimal monster by matt star. and last but not least b2 called *piano*, a old but still fresh sounding work of locke. freak out!

after a longer break mainakustik is back with a release by the labelowner himself, matt star. he delivered two melodic oldskool flavoured technotracks called >casionation pt.1 + pt.2<, which are on heavy rotation in his sets since nearly a year. its also the teaser to matts upcoming lp which will be released in spring 2013.
the ep comes around with a unbroken dub remix who is well known for releases on rawax, delsin and others.

the ninth release from the mainrecords shop, on its eponymously titled label comes in the form of three tracks of slick late night electro from matt star, plus a remix from perseus traxx. with well over three dozen releases under his belt in one guise or another matt star aka mattias schildger is no stranger at all to production of high quality electronic music, as this latest ep clearly displays. happily blurring boundaries between house and electro, with its tight, crisp beats the release exudes a form of stripped back and honest late night cool with basses that bubble in a way sometimes reminiscent of ed dmx, while others lend more of a chicago feel accompanied by rolling toms. synth lines and arpeggiations cut in and out of subtle modulations giving the feel of anticipation one gets while tearing along the motorways of a city, late at night, the lights of the city and other vehicles brightly darting by, streaking and reflecting across the cars windscreen. perseus traxx delivers a subtle remix that remains true to the elements of the original and while adding a booming kick and some of his own production techniques, influences and grit to the mix, shows he isnt stuck in one genre or sound.

matt is back on musique unique. three extracts from his current liveset. all recorded during some liveshows in clubs around europe.

matt star returns to mainrecords. together with his brother locke and labelboss of mainrecords, he produced two melodic technobombs, which are predestined for the big floors.but thats not all. the maintrack >gaucho< gets an heavy remix by no one less then petar dundov in his typical hypnotic melodic style. we are very pleased to hear how mainrecords developed their style this year.

another freaked out tune on wirrwarr! this time both labelowners made a homage to their hometown offenbach with a 8 minutes journey of pure energy. the flipside is the perfect complement to >offenbach symphonie<. b1 >zerspannungsmodulator< with its more stripped down drumming and b2 >pouopium< with its cool hypnotic and freaky style. watch out for more release on wirrwarr!

without a doubt it is one of the strongest pieces so far to come out of the mind of matt star. morphology, the title track is a trip that is leading us directly into the center of the dancefloor. it is characterized by its enormous dynamic, a deep & dirty roughness that comes up alongside an unstoppable kind of a mesmerizing groove - this one, for sure, is going to be loved by all fans of the usual suspects that are playing in the global champions league of modern high quality techno music. mttstr on the flip side seem to be building up a bit more subtle. both of them show matts talent for patiently modulating sounds creating almost extraterrestrial fluid grooves. both sides of the record are bringing an overall energy containing several well placed breakdowns and carefully crafted moments of high tension before matt is letting things kick back into full force again.

vol. 7 - next masterpiece!

following our tenth release we welcome two unique and established artists into the leftback family. david gtronic and randall m join us for their first outing on the label off the back of their busy international touring schedule and contribute an epic deep and twisted track across one whole of side a. accompanied on the b side by a heavy duty dub mix stripping back the original track and knotching up the bpm. label regular matt star provides his dubby techno stamp for the remix completing the package on b2.

the berlin based imprint roundqube musik gets its 10th release. to celebrate this goal the label s guys have brought together the whole rqm familien dropping an eight track double vinyl: besides the usual suspects like francesco passantino, gabriele carasco, luca torre and sonartek, die familien grows with new friends such as the well known frankfuter producer matt star, jakob seidensticker (an element of wareika) in cooperation with boronas, the japanese talent kaitaro, enzo pietropaolo and the co-owner of the label i-max with blesgroove.

the freaks are out again. questo! music 006 comes on transparent vinyl and features three tracks by the freaky questo! family. this time we show up from the flashy and melodic side, right perfect for the beginning of the open air season.

vilena records is 5 years old and decided to celebrate with its first vinyl with 4 tracks. side a is characterized by dub sounds and two tracks: the first one by matt star, german artist who manages repeat music and has productions on labels such as cocoon records, kling klong and many others, the second track is by alex veronesi and paolo mosca aka rejekt. side b is composed of two tech house tracks: the first is by stan garac, spanish artist class 83 that has collaborate with labels like viva music and hall of fame, while the second track is by one of the greatest artists of vilena records, massimo pozzi aka max (italy).
