something tells me this ones gonna be big. uzuri 020 comes from jitterbug, and its great to have him back. followers of the label will be very familiar with this producers work, even if they know very little about the man himself. im not going to shatter the mystique.

for uzuri 018 we return to one of our home grown artists – jitterbug. time has flown since his last release for us in 2010, but we have been quite eager to get some new material out from him for a while – and, based on feedback we have had, plenty of other people are keen to hear more from him too. both his raw winter and beaten trax eps were pretty popular releases for us and his dj appearances always create a stir, so we are pleased to bring you this, the arcane theory ep. the track sequencing on this record is pretty aggressive – front-loaded with the confrontational rise of the machines. a track that really lives up to its title, sounding like the production line at cyberdyne systems… all stomp and evil synths, like a bad mood e-dancer. fallout couldnt be further from that – relaxed and making no attempt at all to get in your face. itll win you over, though. just a nice, deep groove and a lovely, phased beat. could play it for hours… the whole of the flip is devoted to nomads, a chiming, acidic wander. nearly eleven minutes in length. the kicks never at the fore on this one – most of the action occurs at the mid and high frequencies – a resonant 303, lots of hi hats and, later, synths which expand on the eastern-flavour of the track title

theomatic is back with a surprise 12-inch from the labels mainman an-2. mint ep is a collection of four space-boogie jams spanning a variety of moods and tempos that have been recorded over the period of last couple of years. the lo-fi beats and pulsating kalimba-esque arpeggios on sigint create an instant feel of a sci-fi movie soundtrack, while an ultra-deep kick drum and a punchy bass on mint is a sure way to test your speaker performance. things get more chilled and pensive on the flipside with dusky downtowns brooding synthwork and rolling pads taking you on a stroll along glittering neon-lit city streets. last, but not least, amberflames take on dusky downtown is a steaming affair that uses tight compression and lush synths and to create that special euphoric dancefloor moment.
