die 1988 gegründete wiener formation dubblestandart gehört seit vielen jahren zur crème de la crème der europäischen dub-szene. dafür sprechen nicht allein gemeinsame auftritte als begleitband mit genre-legenden wie marcia griffiths, lee »scratch« perry oder ari up sowie unzählige gefeierte konzerte auf einschlägigen festivals, beispielsweise coachella, central park summer stage (new york) und dub champions (amsterdam), sondern vor allem die beeindruckende liste an veröffentlichungen.
»dub realistic« ist bereits das 16. album der band. passenderweise erscheint dieses – wie auch schon zahlreiche seiner vorgänger – bei echo beach, dem hamburger dub- und reggae-spezialisten. »dub realistic« knüpft einen wohlig warmen soundteppich aus artrockigen dub-elementen, frickeligem electro, experimentellen samples und gelungenen gesangsbeiträgen befreundeter künstler.
