jimi tenor has made an instrumental album mysterium magnum with the finnish national jazz orchestra, umo. umo is a professional 16 piece orchestra. specialized in jazz and contemporary rhythm music. throughout it s history umo has had a focus on finnish composers and has performed hundreds of compositions that were made especially for umo.

nearly two years ago we released mys/kela by a newish stockholm-based producer who had put out a couple tracks on a couple labels studio barnhus and local talk owned by friends from around town. that produce s name was hnny and a lot has happened since then, both to him and to us. hes gone on to crank out more l.t. 12inches as well as some hes dropped on his yummy and puss imprints, weve gone on to unleash a couple dozen more records and see the list of talent we ve hosted at our parties grow to astounding length. somehow, through it all, we managed to stay close with hnny, whos real name is johan cederberg, and even book him for a couple nyc gigs. the friendship that began so humbly and gently in 2013 has blossomed.

the next part of mr raoul ks album >still living in slavery<. it is delivered in a picture sleeve that will hold all three records and will also look very good on your record shelf. musicwise, the first side features all three chapters of >dounougnan magni< stretched over almost eighteen minutes. pure afrofunk bliss with beautiful keyboards played by kuniyuki takahashi. the track also features the vocal talents of hamed sosso who accompanies the listener throughout his journey. an emotional trip, starting in hot desert plain and ending on cloudy hilltops.

this twelve-inch is the first in triple that will make up the vinyl version of mr raoul ks album still living in slavery - his first album on his own label. the second twelve-inch will be release in a picture sleeve that will be able to hold all three records.

compost prŠsentiert das 13. kapitel dieser bahnbrechenden, hoch geschŠtzten compilation serie. das gesamtpaket auf einer doppel-cd und 4-lp mit zwei gelben, zwei schwarzen scheiben. wie immer hat compost masterind michael reinboth diese compilation mit geschmack und sensibilitŠt fŸr ausgefallene tracks zusammengestellt. von schlagkrŠftigen floorfillern, Ÿber geisterhaften tunes oder latin , funk monstern, cinematischen epen, balearic, zerfransten tools, bis bitter-sŸ§en hybriden ist alles dabei was future jazz ausmacht. selbst die geklampfte version von maze twilight Ÿberrascht mit einem vibe, den fsoj immer ausgemacht hat. diverse magazine haben die fsoj serie als eine der besten compilation serien aller zeiten gefeiert oder gelistet. mit dem start der serie 1995 wurde das genre future jazz quasi aus der taufe gehoben.

still living in slavery is mr raoul ks third album. it is, however, the first one that will be released on his own label baobab music. he thought for quite some time about to shift the african instruments and african rhythm structures that uses in his production processs into a more dominant, more exposed position. giving them a role of there own and freeing them from being bound to a groove coined by a four-to-the-floor kickdrum. while using dominating drumsounds when producing records aimed for the dancefloor seemed reasonible, they werent needed for the storytelling concept throughout this album and are left to the accompanying remixes.
