deep, rootical lovers, darkly seething with one-step-at-a-time hurt and steely, vengeful self-esteem. hypnotic, stripped and desolate, with implacable drums and bass, dubwise from the start, the production is classic, unmistakable wackies, featuring fabian cooke’s scattered, abrupt organ stabs and minimal guitar-work, ras menelik’s masterful nyabinghi drumming, and harmonic commiseration by sugar minott and the love joys (with a strangled sob at intervals). over six minutes, the extended mix is different to the love power lp, and the additional dub, released here for the first time, is unmissable for its extra rawness and dubbed-out emptiness. plus thirteen minutes of blissed-out disco reggae on the flip: two contrasting dubs of the giorgio moroder/irene cara/flashdance cut from love power, both previously unreleased and a bit sick.

originally recorded at estúdios da somil between september 1973 and october 1974. a handful heavyweight brazilian musicians have been working together on this album, orlandivo, hermes & zé roberto to name a few, we think you can definitely hear their influence in a positive way.

the anticipated second release from los angeles/seattle imprint slumdiscs comes in the form of a 12 inch from two artists who have each had a prolific year, refining their respective takes on dark electronics. side a features three tracks from italian producer morkebla (where to now?/reckno). he utilizes ethereal synths to create vast, mind expanding soundscapes just as suited for club use as they are for deep meditation. side b is provided by portland artist best available technology (astro:dynamics/working nights). contained within is an experiment in variations and reductions that rewards close listeners with a glimpse into the slow decay of self-contained sonic ecosystems. *go slumming* marks the first full length collaboration between the two artists and showcases the best of their respective styles.

next strike on fumakilla, this time new shots produced by french artist paul ritch, well known for his stunning releases on labels like get physical, resopal, kickboxer and paradigma, just to name a few….paul definitly knows how to create deep and smooth atmospheres, without sob stuff….he has resources against boredom!!!! fluffy basslines and soundscapes, a wicked little synth chord and a reserved drumwork starts the main track called > back to time<. after a short and constructive break the principal theme restarts, with a striking sound selection and harmonious arrangements. call it mini-trance, call it tech-house, or even detroit-tech, call it whatever, it doesn t make any differences, the main thing is, the boys and girls all over the world will boogie with a smile on their faces, and deservedly so….trip down memory lane!!!!on the flip another tune called >vaticans bell<, and also another straight forward goin up groove monster with pretty great arrangements and awesome placed strings. paul ritch plays the first violin, he knows how to produce a timeless masterpiece, reduced but heavily effective monster tracks at the end, come, look and see… 10 points to berlin again!!
