music for dreams release their second 12 inch this year from danish duo visti & meyland. continuing their current passion for writing real songs, visti & meyland are back with a larger than life anthem of love, melancholy and thoughtfulness. ‘sharing the light’ has a dreamy vibe in the verses and hits back hard with a bobby womack-esque chorus with meyland s jekyll and hyde vocals. carried by a 70 s drumbeat, a hypnotic electric bass line, and an out-of-tune piano, this track has a strong emotional, warm and star-gazing feel to it, though still maintaining the heavy, rock-solid grooviness that the danish duo are known for. on remix duties payfone calls the shots and demonstrates his power turning the track into a modern paradise garage-inspired dj tool. ‘girls on camera’ is the second track and a sure fire balearic club monster combining -e2e4- style arpeggios with french kiss style stabs making this package essential for any collector of open minded balearic sounds.

peters love of obscure disco and house shows in this solo album - wide ranging influences have gone into the musical hot-pot. take the slo-mo lazy groove of lead track and opener love is the key . this sets the sonic palette, laid back, underground and understated (but cucumber cool) throughout. deliberately absent are the commercial and pseudo-poppy sounds from the visti and meyland 2010 debut. this record is a club affair, less in your face and more all around you . for example lost in space is one part elastic groove, one part melodious, enveloping ambience and one part progressive disco groove. tracks such as i m out the door , bubble bubble and drinking in darkness are more direct, straight dance floor booty-shaking grooves. as is what you would expect from the man who has dj stamped firmly into his dna.

balearic biscuits remixes and edits from veter pisti (aka peter visti of visti & meyland and eskimo fame). the first is an 80s disco pop mover with fagget fairys thrown in for style. the flipside has a stripped down totally tubular reworking of foreign affair, which is a mike oldfield song, minus most of the lyrics. voice of buddha is in a synth heavy league of its own originally from... yup, the human league.

japan based, multi-instrumentalist, max essa, has done it again for us here in the bearfunk forest. his splendid second album >white shoes, blue dreams< has pleased the public and reviewers alike. the >midnight and dub direction ep< takes some of the albums finer moments and gives them a more dance-floor friendly, dubby makeover.
