the legendary club u60311 in frankfurt has opened up a brand-new hotspot for minimal right in the heart of the city, going by the name of 311. paired with this, an affiliated label - dreielf recordings - has also been launched. the residents michael kohlbecker, one part of the saafi brothers, and frankfurts newcomer peter eilmes are releasing the fruits of their cooperation in their home studio, and putting an already-established scene hit onto vinyl with - tabasco. the original of the record impresses with its anthemic character, which may have been due to the fat bass-line and the striking trumpet. despite its monotony, a real jewel for every record case and just the stuff to get happiness dripping from the club ceiling. the remix by alexi delano, on the other hand, is somewhat deeper and more melodic at the same time, but still contains all the ingredients necessary for a proper shot of tabasco. sonic monogamy or fat kick basses make this remix unique. the dominant trumpet and the scraping percussion of the berliner andre crom make this remix an absolute guarantee of ecstasy. tabasco is hot and burns like hell!

ziggy kinders last outing on souvenir proved to be one of the highlights of 2007. bailamos, a record destined to make love to the converging worlds of european techno and south american latin music was hailed by artists like laurent garnier, koze and mike shannon for its mysterious melodies and enveloping percussion while the a-side que pasa maria was championed by anja schneider and radioslave. fans of tiefschwarzs daring souvenir imprint will be in no doubt as to what lies in store for the labels tenth release. >flipflop crash< is another typically ziggy workout destined for a discerning international dancefloor. disorientating percussion and flanging effects dance around an insistent throbbing bassline while a female vocal whispers in french. the warm melodies layering the track hint at the sultriness of >bailamos< , but this is a continuation not a revisitation and an impressive step forward for ziggys sound. on the flip chilean star pier bucci takes up the remix reigns. after impressing with his ahead-of-its-time familia lp on crosstown rebels in 2005 and last years club bomb hay consuelo, his addition to the souvenir roster is another memorable recruitment with current label remix talents including artists like carl craig, tiefschwarz, shonky, samim, kiki & silversurfer and radioslave. his interpretation adds an injection of urgency to ziggys original, stripping the vocals back to a minimum to make way for an epic delay soaked synth hook. its a remix destined for the end of a night or that perfect plateau of a party when the dancefloor has been moving for hours waiting for a hypnotising melody such as this to sweep it onto another level

played by: karotte, mathias kaden, sebo k, stefan goldmann... franklins early musical roots began with a taiwan drumset and a hohner organ. after some training years under the influence of metal, jazz, 70sprog/rock and live perfomances as a versatile drummer his transition to electronic music began with an amiga 500 computer. the trackermusic of this machine lead him to the early techno music of the 90s and early production experiments in his fathers home studio. first releases followed in 1995 to 96 on the label fusion records (w/ 303 nation member, patrick vauillaume). later he released as tichy on various frankfurt techno labels until at the end of the 90s his search for inspiration brought him to a very experimental production phase without the 4 to the floor presetting. from this he developed his distinctive trademark sound with straight grooves and frisky sound design. meanwhile franklin was gaining more international recognition with releases on well-known labels such as trapez ltd, karmarouge noir, einmaleins musik and treibstoff. his singles entered the charts of the german groove magazine, german dance charts and the charts of djs worldwide. after his last release on resopal red he is coming up with his debut on leena music.
