paris-based beat x changers brings up to you a new record with a collaborative project in the shape of classic cuts.our new release introduces two new french artists brought together on a split ep: tell from paris and name from the sunny avignon city, both of them backed- up by exclusive remixes from three of our historical beat x producers: neue grafik and pulkone (aka x_1 & monomite). on the a-side, discover tell - a 20-year old jazz drummer - who releases two soulful and melodic tracks. you’ll recognize the heat of the mpc grain, obsessing samples and uplifting breaks. on the b-side, southern producer name offers a disco-like and funky house music via two dancing tracks with a clear reference to the clubbing universe of new york and chicago. this activist dj and experimented producer – he is an ableton teacher on the side – gained recognition in the south of france music scene in the last decade and reached the ears of producer kink.grand Écart (i.e. wide gap or split) recalls the time it took to release this ep. it’s also a geographical gap, a gap between the ideas of the five artists brought together on this release, a gap between our expectations and the reality of some passed – or cancelled – venues in paris. we have always believed in this project and in our flexibility!

the taleneted frenchman delivering quality house for the discoteque... ninja tune s singles label technicolour welcomes parisian producer nathan melja (formerly simply -melja-) to the fold with a 4-track 12- ep of instinctive, effortless and beautifully understated techno entitled -no no no-. released on 13th may 2016, it s a direct reflection of his future-facing vision teamed with a healthy respect for house and techno s forebears and innovators. you can stream the title track via the technicolour soundcloud and preorder the 12- now. flitting between paris and nyc, nathan made his mark with two superb 12-s for mister saturday night and a sterling ep for opal tapes offshoot imprint black opal in 2014-15. his residency dream real at parisian clubbing institution batofar has featured the likes of moiré (werkdiscs / spectral), technicolour labelmate florian kupfer and italian don madteo.

activists on the paris minimal scene since their beginnings in 2006, the group antislash produce sharp, destructive, dancefloor house music. on the decks, they rhythmically exude their passion for electronic music and clubbing. they already played in most of the prestigious parisian clubs and over europe like rex club, nouveau casino, panorama bar, bar 25, club der visionaere or overground festival.

with france’s long-fallow club scene back in international resurgence as paris storms back into fighting form, europe now has found a new source for yet-unheard music. it was a long time brewing, but names like concrete, katapult, zadig, and society of silence, have begun to appear in the international clubbing circuit, and the growth is not limited to the capital. further south in lyon, a city quickly gaining its own renown for busy club parties booking bigger names, there exists a smaller circle of energetic operators whose name is also spreading rapidly and whose recent accomplishments include nuites sonores, boilerroom and more.

for the 13th release from paris ghetto club label, clekclekboom turns to coni, the man who released their sophomore effort in december 2011. the ep also marks the start of a new artwork series featuring futurist portraits of the artists. conis *my secret diving* shows a distinct progression in the young parisians sound since 2011s highly popular *luz in the pool / suma / crush*. whereas the former was aimed at peak-hour clubbing with upbeat house rhythms, 808s and big bass lines, *my secret diving* takes a more relaxed and confident approach.

clement meyer now joins correspondant, and with a nod to his parisian roots he enters our label with techno to be reckoned with. just listen to the first half of >sweet insanity<, and you will begin to appreciate his dark style as much as we do. abe duque, who we have invited to remix >sweet insanity< has been at the head of the acid-house and underground-techno table since his earliest releases way back in 1993. from muscular and melodic techno to cocktail jazz and ambient interludes, his early tracks on his own labels tension and hollis haus included releases under pseudonyms like kirilan and super secret symphony, plus his releases on others labels like disko b, rapture!, morbid, and tresor captured a particular period of clubbing history. the second part of duque s career was a run of increasingly massive 12 inch hits like champagne days, cocaine nights, acid, disco nights, and in 2004 his monster smash with blake baxter >what happened?<. his signature is now stamped across productions from top acts like chemical brothers, pet shop boys, and miss kitten, and has become a regular on dj hells gigolo label. the highlight of this period, though, was his first album >so underground it hurts<. it was undeniably a techno event, and that is exactly what he comes with today, a mind bending techno remix of >sweet insanity<. we hope you like it!
