the man called leftside wobble raises the heat and delivers two top quality reworks on autodiscotheque continuing the imprints journey into the disco influenced proto-house sound. leftside wobble has emerged as an exciting new dj and producer on the back of the massive hype created by his genre-hopping dj edits and mixes that are posted on his self titled blog. followers of the wobble sound now include music aficionados and dj legends like greg wilson, mr scruff, the unabombers and rob da bank and his web following is ever growing.

following the avonmore remix ep, bryan ferry now collaborates with leo zero, ray mang, leftside wobble and justin robertson to release the new ‘avonmore’ (dub) ep. pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl and housed in a screen-printed sleeve, this record is an edition of 500. the dub ep contains a broad pallete of sounds, scenes and genres which are traversed along the course of this four track vinyl. kicking off in style with a version of ‘loop di li’. leo zero’s take is sun-kissed and breezy, with trilling riffs and sweeping synths. uk disco-don, ray mang then offers a more pumping, groove driven effort that wraps ferry’s unique vocals up in a neo-balearic cool. flip over to the b side two listen to two fascinating versions of ‘driving me wild’, both hosting that lush 80s nostalgia. mastered on the emi 1400 and pressed to 180g heavyweight vinyl, avonmore dubs features both a bespoke screen printed thick card outer sleeve and a bespoke inner sleeve.

whiskey disco #48 glows in the welcome return of tomas malo as well as beach, pool and terrace season. tomas malo s skilled editing is underpinned by lush production and meticulous sample selection. south of the border flare meets french touch filter in this package of three originals + leftside wobble s remix, sly and covertly sneaking a touch of classic acid to finish off the package.

another big remix package from ism, who continue their homage paying endeavours for legendary nyc disco troupe odyssey. this latest 12 inch sees remixes from faze action, toby tobias, leftside wobble and ron basejam. opening proceedings on the a-side you will find faze actions thumping proto-house version of >going back to my roots< - this one is made for sweat-drenched sunday nights at horse meat disco! mr tobias goes deep on his version of >o dj ko<, with the swampy bass, echo laden vocal cuts and bleep-fuelled melody a pleasing contrast to its raucous predecessor. the two remixes on the flip maintain these lofty standards, with soundcloud don leftside wobble turning in a twinkling refix of >lonely star<, while crazy p man ron basejam turns >aint no dubbin us now< into a beefy, conga-led traipse through shimmering, balearic soundscapes.

following up the scorching debut release another night, deep&disco recordings sidesteps the sophomore slump with elisco, an infectious electro-funk groover that both cements the labels commitment to quality and expands their musical range.
a chunky nu-disco track with hints of metro area and a catchy vocal hook, the seeds of elisco were planted in the early 2000s when label founder jkriv and lou teti were sharing a loft space in williamsburg, brooklyn. after an afternoon of cowbells and synths, the skeleton of the track had its shape, and their other roomates girlfriend was enlisted to sing the hook. she had no singing experience (or rhythmic sense) to speak of, but somehow it all worked and elisco was born! although its always been a personal favorite of the producer duo, the song remained shelved for almost 7 years until they dusted it off in early 2011 and readied it for release on the newly minted deep&disco recordings.
providing remixes for the vinyl release are the legendary leftside wobble, who turns in an extended and bpm-d-up version quite true to the original, taking the machine vibes to the next level with added loops and fx. brightons alphabet city brings the disco-boogie sensibility to the package with a deep mix that features jkriv on live bass, and whiskey disco regular sleazy mcqueen rounds it out with an indie dance stomper.

now into their seventh year, horse meat disco have continued to lead the way with packed residencies at their hq at the eagle in london s vauxhall, lux in lisbon and tape in berlin. inspired by the music and inclusive ethos of new york’s club scene during the 70s and 80s, the collective have garnered a unique reputation for amazing parties and unmatchable sets, the quartet of djs each mixing their own quality blend of disco juice. during 2011, as well as playing their annual uk festival dates at glastonbury and lovebox, they will be spreading the love to some of the world s leading festivals including vivid in sydney, electric elephant, bestival and san francisco s pride.
