ibiza is known for that very special and unique vibe. this atmosphere full of deep emotions mixed with wild energy, salty air and hot summer nights. this is what we want to give to you and what we tried to present right from the start of our great ibiza adventure more than 15 years ago! all led by the big mastermind mister sven vŠth who started back then on the white island with his vision and made it come true more and more year by year. looking back at 15 editions of his mix-cd-series the sound of the season we have to state that these mixes are acoustic documents for contemporary witnesses, the recored soundtracks of our lifes on the island for all these great and unforgettable summer seasons!

feat. tracks by omar s, joris voorn, lco dice, jay haze, guti, iron curtis.. balance music presents balance 021 mixed by nic fanciulli. the saved records boss delivers a stunningly intricate mix that highlights his ethos as dj and label owner. cd1, entitled simply balance is a subtle and expertly crafted mix that balances a plethora of diverse tracks, often three at a time, to create an expansive but well focused journey. on cd2, nic showcases the sound and ethos of his own saved records with a collection of records exclusive to the imprint. whilst keeping the focus on quality house music, the mix highlights the diversity within the label with a discernable collection of tracks that straddle various styles, atmospheres and tempos Ð many of which will be available exclusively through balance 021.

the cocoon label presents the cocoon morphs tokyo cd, previously released exclusively in japan. presenting exclusive work by artists of the highest cocoon-caliber, cocoon morphs tokyo also celebrates the aesthetic partnership between world-renowned german photographer and artist andreas gursky and cocoon-head sven vaeth. gursky has published a cycle of large-sized pictures with -cocoon- as the central theme: the -cocoon- pictures reference current club culture, with gursky using the big techno events cocoon stages as inspiration. the architectural frame of his work refers to the design of the cocoonclub in frankfurt. the spatial concept was developed by v„th, together with the design agency 3deluxe. in gurskys cover art, you can see the idealized approach to the original cocoon club in all its fervent glory. here, excellent electronic music meets the work of the most important contemporary german artist worldwide - again, cocoon explores new frontiers and combines art forms of the 21st century. artists include: gerber & kalbata, tiefschwarz, pig & dan, vaeth vs. rother, schneider & galluzzi, ricardo villalobos, david k, and patrick zigon.

final song goes to the very heart of musics spiritual dimension by asking a number of musicians to select their ideal last song, either to serenade their final moments or to memorialize them after the fact. the participating artists deserve to be commended for their openness: theyre responding to one of the most personal questions one could ask. (several of those approached declined to take part- taboos are taboos, after all.)
