8factor is a german music project from leipzig - he is producing electronic music for 8 years without making official releases. tommy tricker was a former alias which was used for lo-fi boombap instrumentals. one of his most famous instrumantals is called “kommunistische tummulte” which was released on red tape. he is also a big fan of propellerheads software “reason”. most of his tracks contains self-programmed malstrom-synth-textures or processed samples.

death waltz recording company is proud to exhume another classic from the hammer horror stable in the shape of “dracula a.d. 1972”. bringing the legend of bram stoker s immortal creation into then-present day, the film pits the charismatic count up against the disco decade after being resurrected by a group of hippies performing black magic, with cristopher lee and peter cushing reprising their signature roles. composing this madness was mike vickers, former member of 60’s pop quiet manfred mann, who provided a suitably contemporary score that followed in the footsteps of jazz scores from that era.

the ethos of m.i.l has always been to play the role of adventurer, to push forward the sounds that veer away from the main label music is love and m2222 pushes the envelope to the furthest boundary so far. kastil steps up for the 5th release on the vinyl only label with a divine techno ep. etrek kicks off the proceedings with a kick drum solid enough to shake the bones of anyone in 100 meters of it. with its eerie analogue blips and noises the atmosphere this track emits is so intriguing you yearn for all its beautifully produced twists and turns. the main riff played against the surging drum section will make this track a timeless tool for techno & house djs alike.

after previous releases on hija de colombia, el nino andres (here credited as el nino only) debuts on new vinyl label called jackie brown. jackie brown aims to release series of mini lps, providing conceptual music stories, while at the same time not neglecting the main consequence of good house music – dance groove. house music infected with funk, soul and boogie grooves – we are not inventing nothing new, we’ve been inspired by many labels that came before. el nino delivers first story on our label, and in our humble opinion shows the very best side of house music with a groove and soul. though not all tracks are lengthy and floor ready, they make a great ensemble on “no boogie nights”, while tracks like “odds against tomorrow”, “thieves in the night” and “something ain’t right” work great on their own. everything is rounded up with amazing artwork from maximilian moser.

nofitstate return with four tracks from hot talent a1 bassline whose reputation has been building of late from a succession of releases for the likes of dirtybird, get physical and gruuv amongst others. here hidden agenda finds the young producer in true devastating form. skippy percussion, a nod to the uks garage scene, vibes the track along nicely whilst the bass does the damage. burnt out piano island delves deeper, acting as a neat counterpoint to the more main room agenda. here the style is much more nuanced with a more hypnotic leaning. outsider picks up the pace against, albeit in a subtle, uplifting vibe with warped pianos and razor sharp percussion. t moe p rounds things off nicely with a moody bassline driven groove.

produced by close friend black coffee, the original mix provides a suitably deep and meaningful platform for bantwinis heartfelt lyrics about phony relationships and, in turn, his soulfully immaculate delivery. lush afro-edged rhythms lead into smart bursts of trumpet, cool double bass-lines and stirring rhodes solos - a rich musical weave more than amplifying bantwinis performance.
a wealth of stylish remixes skilfully widens wasting my times dancefloor appeal. gallic house sophisticate rocco ups the tempo, cracking whip-smart beats against thumping kick drums and infectious metallic key stabs, as does paris kingpin dan ghenacia, thanks to a fiesty vocal remix and dub fusing gothic mood and jack-happy sass in fine style. ghenacias versions have already, in fact, become a thunderous week-in-week-out staple of his ibizan circo loco residency at dc10 this summer. elsewhere, real tone main man franck roger offers a neat, dubby riff on black coffees original production, injecting sweet balafon melodies and additional percussive pep.

it took a while but we finally got this great remix ep together from catz n dogz escape from zoo album. tanner ross flexes his e-funk biceps and shows us that just a little bit goes a long way with huge bass and sparse vox. this remix goes against the grain the right way, showing restraint and power at the same time. the main man of detroit, carl craig also delivers a sparse and beautiful mix, 1st giving us a lesson in how to properly tweak the space echo and then bringing it back with classic strings and subs. both mixes are getting major support from all across the globe from sebo k to troy pierce to ewan pearson to martyn to l-vis 1990 to james zabiela - overall probably the best feedback we had in a while on a record to be honest.. all great for our kids at the detroit youth foundation where the mothership label donates 100% of profits! also, special thanks to matt colton at air studios, london for donating a mastering session for free to cut this record and support our school.

time 2 express is on a roll! sqeezing out harsh yet hypnotic techno of the highest order. the 4th instalment in the 61 center returning series is an all belgo-italian affair. as on vol. 3 the a side is taken up by peter van hoesen and donato dozzy. with >dock< they present a dense, psychedelic track: bubbling percussion works its way through swirls of oscillating soundscapes. >dock< envelops the listener in a thick, gentle blanket, slowly increasing the pressure as the track unfolds over 9 minutes. on the b-side stroboscopic artefacts main brain lucy reports for remix duty. >defense against the self> was originally released on peter van hoesens >entropic city< album. lucy provides the track with a solid dose of steroids, injecting cavernous kicks and bleeps. his version widens the impact of the original, while adding his very own personal take on techno. viva italia...

shadow sync are back with their latest true techno, full analog release on krd. poles is marked by a percussive sound which despite its inharmonic character yet keeps a trace of tuning making it similar to a voiced percussion. this main sound is arranged to form a sort of pseudo-melody determined by the different intensity, lenght and color of the reverb tail. the 909 delivers both the drum line and the bass line, realized using the tom section. the background is populated by friendly, ceaselessly mutating sonic organisms. magnetic fields is a train rolling through dark, post-industrial landscapes. its built around a drastically eqed 909 tom, a nervous echoed clap and a cross-rhythmic, 3 against 4 hypnotic bass line which evolves in a bell-like sound towards the pause. the atmosphere is saturated with sound vapors and the temperature is dangerously high: play at your own risk!

nice price deal !!! expanding on the success of forward strategy group, label boss smear has fashioned the new minimalist outfit, retail & leisure, with a new addition of the fsg corporate family. retail & leisure is in many ways the polar opposite of fsg, ditching their trademark dense, heavy techno in favour of simplicity, space and a more systematic approach to composition. side a strips right down to the bare essentials, leaving little more than an ice-cold rhythm, bleep and hiss, creating a deep mix-tool for fans of artists such as mika vainio and sleeparchive. the b side features a remix by fsgs latest recruit adrian ross. mechanical scrapes and clangs mesh with deep, pressing kicks to create a sound which is dense and impenetrable. ross is a unique entity in techno: with a genuine outsiders take on the genre, he is an exciting prospect and a great asset to the group. the final track is r&ls take on dubstep, with dry, chalky percussion, discordant siren and churning bass. snares spin, shuffle and shatter against the tracks main, oppressive rhythms. the record ends with some valuable advice on where one should position ones feet

played by loco dice, tom clark... a booty call. the title says it all, a call for all booties - big or small - to migrate to the dance floor. an orgy of percussion and low end rumble lift you from your head bobbing slump up against the wall and firmly plants you right in the sweet spot of the dance floor, where the rising energy hits a climax. there is a pause and then the most noticeable sound of the track hits: the booty call. one artist credited with invigorating the kindisch label, is the young frankfurt based producer daniel mehlhart, whose first (and hopefully not last) release, origami was a highlight of last summer. in his booty call remix, one can immediately hear his style thrust into the main groove of the track, injecting it with a heavier feel and bringing forth a whole slew of new effects and sounds including a hypnotizing african vocal. this marks a small milestone as the 20th release of the label.

next strike on fumakilla, this time new shots produced by french artist paul ritch, well known for his stunning releases on labels like get physical, resopal, kickboxer and paradigma, just to name a few….paul definitly knows how to create deep and smooth atmospheres, without sob stuff….he has resources against boredom!!!! fluffy basslines and soundscapes, a wicked little synth chord and a reserved drumwork starts the main track called > back to time<. after a short and constructive break the principal theme restarts, with a striking sound selection and harmonious arrangements. call it mini-trance, call it tech-house, or even detroit-tech, call it whatever, it doesn t make any differences, the main thing is, the boys and girls all over the world will boogie with a smile on their faces, and deservedly so….trip down memory lane!!!!on the flip another tune called >vaticans bell<, and also another straight forward goin up groove monster with pretty great arrangements and awesome placed strings. paul ritch plays the first violin, he knows how to produce a timeless masterpiece, reduced but heavily effective monster tracks at the end, come, look and see… 10 points to berlin again!!
