honey butter heartily welcomes the very talented duo rhode & brown, known for their outings on toy tonics, rose records, lets play house and of course on their own slam city jams to join the family rooster. on this side sits the collaborated number women together with coeo, in which you get 2 sides of the story, one for some serious sing along and the latter for stomping it out in an orderly fashion. that side will continue to showcase their love for heavy disco affairs and infectious hooks in the heat & lazy disco loop (but i ll dance anyway) all the while putting the cherry on the sundae in the title track langusto dance orchestra

munich based slam city jams kicks off 2019 with their 5th release. label heads rhode & brown gather four of their favorite artists from around the world to remix last year’s successful wave 100 ep. with remixes by bell towers (public possession), mr. ho (klasse wrecks), c.k (regelbau) and bostro pesopeo (permanent vacation).

label head honchos rhode & brown finally debut on their own imprint, slam city jams, after putting out music on fellow labels toy tonics and public possession. produced over the past two years, the wave 100 ep might be the most versatile record by the munich-based fellas so far. on the title track we have an euphoric hint of 80s synth nostalgia, slapped bass and banging woodsticks (did someone say safri duo?!). sparkle on a2 feels like the joy of a fresh breeze on hot summer days whilst living la vida loca in the clouds - b/w phat bass, sweet flutes & strings. on the flip there is love lane, a classic house track with a funked up bassline, shuffling snares and the most erotic vocal in human history. moon bells on b2 is the soundtrack to that road trip you did back in 86 with a juno 106 arpeggiator bassline, percussive drums and airy synths all around. over europe on b3 rounds off this special 5-tracker with beautiful ambient spheres straight from outta space.

rhode & brown are back on their motherlabel toy tonics! after last years breakbeat - tune st hippolyte and getting remixed by their buddies hodini and glenn astro, their new ep takes their sound further again. from diy-disco to dreamy house, whatever you like to call it.. the tracks have this joyful touch, that makes their sound so special. this time their production way was a little bit different: while spending holidays on the marvellous island of zanzibar they produced the raw versions of this ep. they set up their studio at a beach cabanne. with a monkey becoming their muse. they monkey came over every day to listen to their sounds. they became friends and called the monkey rosie and fed her with mangos. when back in europe the munich boys still were in a balearic mood. so they went to a house deep in the south of france to finish the music. the result were 4 tracks. three for this ep. and one track that they gave to the other munich based label public possession for their recent serie a compilation. which makes totally sense: public possession and toy tonics both have links to gomma records. its all a family thing. where great munich vibes incoming!

vintage house freaks and soul kids: rhode & brown from munich come back on toy tonics with a great, funk driven, instrumental ep. featuring a remix by upcoming producer hodini. rhode & brown come from the growing young, new house scene of munich. since 3 years the kids host their own night at munichs kong club and doing music. after a few remixes (check the one for brooklyn based label good company records) the boys release their first ep of 2015 on toy tonics. the sound? they proudly call it weißwursthouse produced on a stradivari-build mpc 1000 in their beautiful studio in the heart of munich. influenced by old soul records, detroit legends theo parrish and moodymann, as well as new experimental house from the scandinavian labels around studio barnhus. everything with their own unmistakable rhode & brown touch.

berlin techno was the big thing over the last years, but you might know that in german cites like hamburg and munich there is a huge growing experimental house scene. hamburgs diynamic records crew or munich artists such as sascha sibler (innervisions) or cocolores (exploited) are equally well respected as the big names from berlin. one of the fresh new labels is toy tonics from munich and the raising stars of the labels are rhode & brown.
