ahead of the release of forthcoming debut artist album my heroes, brazilian drum & bass pioneer dj marky has announced he is to first release vinyl-only double aside single silly / its a long ft. makoto. lead track silly sees a hazy, whimsical vocal layered over markys signature acoustics and relaxed brazilian groove - a playful introduction that nods his jungle roots. b-side its a long - ft. japanese drum & bass dj makoto - ups the tempo with stirring, echoed piano chords and frenzied percussion - an ode to the sound thats made him one of the worlds most respected dj/producers

deep in the long dark winter of 2012 / 2013 dj marky combined forces with longtime friends the invaderz with the idea of bringing some sunshine to what was one of the harshest seasons in recent memory. having returned from a drum and bass sabbatical the invaderz reconvened in their north london studio with plans for a well deserved return to d&b having spent the last couple of years working along side various other projects, like dego, bugs in the attic and confronting various mental health issues and living in canterbury. on some rare downtime from tour marky joined them and the result is plain to see here. two giant slabs of warm home cooked vibes. needless to say the support from all sides of the community has been overwhelming. just feast your ears upon the tunes to hear for yourself. let the sun shine on.

the final instalment of the innerground album sampler singles features two of the heavy hitters in the production stakes in recent times. the tried and tested combination of dj marky & makoto has brought many a dancefloor to its knees, whilst new addition, t>i, has shown he has the mettle to dice with some of the biggest names in the game.

nine years on from their debut release, innerground records, the label set up and run by acclaimed dj and producer dj marky, is set to celebrate its landmark fiftieth release. having been home to a slew of top quality releases over the years from the likes of random movement, calibre and s.p.y to name just a few, the imprint are marking the singular occasion with something very special indeed.

written by mark archer in 1991 and released as altern-8, this is half of a double vinyl set featuring new modern remixes cut from the original samples. radioactive man gives the track a purist electro makeover, while dj marky ups the tempo for a dancefloor destroying breakbeat re-work. on the flipside, ceephax acid crew takes the hyperactivity up yet another level, while mark broom gets dirty and distorted, with nightwave rounding out the 12 inch with a jackhammer acid remix.
