we are proud to present the mover and miro on self reflektion for the second reflekt010 sampler. featured is a selection of tracks previously unreleased on vinyl. while both have helped shaping the techno sound from the early 90’s on, tracks as “sequence freak” from 1998, “pest-e-lence” from 1999 and “program your fate” from 2002 sound fresh and most relevant today - a small glimpse from the impressive discographies of two producers that were way ahead of their time. vinyl only!

obwohl die movers während der siebziger in den townships südafrikas eine große nummer im disco-sektor waren und am laufenden band höchst erfolgreich zahlreiche schallplatten veröffentlichten, ist die formation heute nur noch spezialisten wie den experten bei soundway ein begriff. den londoner archivgräbern um labelchef miles cleret haben wir nun die nachpressung der erstmals 1979 herausgebrachten lp -kansas city- zu verdanken. die bietet exakt den sound, für den die movers seinerzeit berühmt waren, nämlich eine zündende fusion aus funk, disco, jive und marabi, einem etwa 1920 in südafrika entwickelten genre, das afrikanische musikstile und afroamerikanisch geprägten jazz verband. das line-up der movers wechselte häufig. an den aufnahmen der sechs stücke auf -kansas city- waren jabu sibumbe, l rhiko, lloyd lelosa und sankie chounyane beteiligt. die produktion verantwortete david thekwane.

frame of mind is back with a re-issue of another unknown gem from the early 90 s. uk production team dave campbell and viv beeton are most known for their uk techno, rave and bleep classics as ubik. it is under the alias of timenet they released an obscure white label in limited quantities in 1992. this untitled and one-off 3-tracker remained fairly unknown up until today. it shows quite a different side of their stunning production talents. dishwasher is a rough drum machine work out topped with a wild bleepy sh101 synthline a la mr fingers. dx moods is a spaced out techno tune combining mysterious pads and crazy dx-100 programming. with on the move the uk pioneers come closest to their ubik sound: mad uk techno with a hint of rave. a previously unreleased and stripped down version of this track is included as well.

terrence dixon returns as population one, offering an unrivaled, dazzling excursion of late. the move comes with an illustrious, energetic orlando voorn rework on the flip. two esoteric portals into the motor city mindset, top tip! laurent garnier: >oh fuck yessssss heavy rotation for me<

z records are back with vol 7 in the attd series: a1 yes, another killer cut on zr. zo!s gorgeous soul tune featuring eric roberson and phonte gets subtly housed up mix by dave lee. a record you will be hearing all summer at more musically inclined parties across the world. a2 jakattas house classic american dream gets a very cool bassline driven remix from andre crom & chi thanh… b1 new and unreleased…. b2 akabu feat. alex mills *everybody wants something* was an enormous tune for many in 2013 and is still getting played by big name djs in bustling nightclubs around the world. now we give you an off the chain/on point/un-believable remix from rhemi. we are not going to describe the nuances of the remix and highlight why the aforementioned big name djs like dropping the track in their sets at cool clubs/festivals/corporate events but its pretty bloody good…
