permanent vacation present you the first 12inch release from their shiny new joint venture with the great swedish label service (who brought you studio, whitest boy alive, jens lekman, kool dj dust). together they bring us the embassy, a duo from gothenburg that makes the most beautiful songs. their sound is warm and light, but underneath the surface theres always some kind of tension, they sound like an ecstasy fuelled, jewel stealing balearic indie band on a permanent vacation at the riviera. or as they say themselves: underclass disco. the original of lurking (with a distances) sounds like a forgotten manchester rave anthem, while wunderkind tensnake made a little jam session with boney m in his parents basement to provide a heavy remix sporting a great sax and a killer panpipe!

the embassy are far too often overlooked in the uk. they more or less engineered the goeteborg scene, and have been hugely important in shaping the swedish independent music landscape over the past 10 years. their influence is second to none. so, to help those who havent been paying attention to catch up, fredrik lindson and torbjoern hŒkansson have announced a retrospective release, life in the trenches, the other side of 2001-2011. the album compiles a bunch of rarities from the duos career, among them b-sides and previously unreleased tracks.
