it is with great pleasure that we announce the first edition of the krill south series. the series will be making history, right from its inaugural release, by being the first ever techno release to be pressed and distributed from argentina. the release will coincide with a partnership with conekta records. the first release will be a reissue of a remastered version of two of krill’s hottest releases - jonas kopp’s ‘anklad’ (which was featured on krill’s maiden voyage back in 2011) and raffael attanasio’s x501’s ‘x505.5’ (which can be found on the a-side of the fourth krill release with bleak’s offerings on the flip). kopp and attanasio’s contributions to the techno scene have sky-rocketed since their last krill output and it’s an honour to be able to reissue something that has been marked as legendary on krill’s accolade. krill music

its been a long wait but finally 501 returns with yet another bigtime 12inch that will roll out punches even more than mike tyson! fresh off his release from never say die sees 501 twisting it differently this time.. >gist< is a vocal infused stomper that opens the 12inch perfectly and sees 501 leaning into a swagger tip. it flows, it rocks, it jumps its everything in 1. it shows a different side to the standard 501 sound and shows he can bend any way he would like to. you can hear that in the b side >borderline< where he exchanges the sweet vocals of gist for a psychotic quote and the swagger lean for some ear shattering kicks & snares. hear borderline destroy your eardrums like the good old days with some sub! nothing beats the old fashioned heavyweight sound! another essential 501 record!

finlands 501 made his name writing smashers for labels such as chase & status imprint more than alot, but this plate on black acres dancefloor subsidiary will confound all expectation. >short circuit< marries synthetic pop production with dancefloorsensibilities and adds a dash of pure cheek for good measure. an intro of vibrant chords, talkbox vocals and live electric bass sets up the naughtiest of drops - skipping jazzy beats, switching synth edits and snippets of turntablism, all shoe-horned over an enormous warping bassline.

20 years ago the track unfuture, released on sven väths imprint eye q, marked a milestone in technoproductions with its uncompromising style and sound, delivering a view on techno which was revolutionary at that time: stripped down to only a couple of sounds in general, the track had an impact on dancefloors as not often seen before in those trance-dominated times - and still has!
