40 thieves are back with a brand new mid tempo instrumental mover for leng records. this single sided 10inch picture disc is available as a limited edition release.(record store day) >in your space< is a cosmic jam that kicks over a funk filled bass line and heavy guitar licks brought together with some added cow bell and squelchy space efx.

the 40 thieves turn up in lengs back garden for a bit of late night skulduggery. kicking off side-a with >backward love<, a deep wobble of dub guitars, weird out fx, large 80s synth lines and lovely throbbing bass, more than enough to get people freaky. on side-b, >crystal mountain thunder< has a genius intro of ambient electronic atmosphere, which gives way to another slug of late-night dub wonkiness, with massive guitars and a hefty drumkit. as expected, a meaty joint of late night disco, for the murkier end of the dance-floor. we hear an album is coming up and if it matches the quality of this release then weve got a veritable treat on its way. check!

side a is a midtempo stormer with wall of sound percussion, massive synth bass, headrush atmospherics and raging, gorgeous keys by the insanely talented dan hastie. a slow build to a killer break and when that bass kicks back in, you re talkin maximum dancefloor havoc. 80s nyc boogie meets nudisco for a serious night out on the town. b1 is a remix by the electronic boogie band that aims straight for the knees and doesnt miss. the bazman and callum walker serve up a wicked dance tempo rework replete with a feisty, stripped down rhythm section, wide load bassline and italo esque arpeggiating keys and a neat arrangement to boot. b2 closes the ep with a big laid back bass and chubby drums provide the foundation for smoky pads, nostalgic keys and a hook you ll be whistling for days

earlier this year, an email dropped into the claremont 56 inbox. it was from a producer in the early stages of his musical career called simon peter, and contained a joyous slice of languid, organic balearica entitled ‘arc of lark’. suitably impressed, claremont 56 boss paul murphy had no hesitation in snapping up the track right away.
