vent forges new alliances, as dee grinski and tolga baklacioglu joins forces to explore musical synergies on a collaborative lp release of drone alchemy, eternal rhythms and harrowing vocalisations, which explores the lightless mazes of subconscious voids, teasing at barely understood taboos. tolga s past explorations of unrelenting industrial sounds are further refined, and enforced with dees vocal talent that covers a wide range of expression - from commanding and authoritative to harrowing howls of disembodied despair. they invite us to come with on a journey towards the lightless fringes of cognisance.

vent present the next step in tolgas journey to explore the peripheral edges of consciousness and experience - a mental expedition beyond the fringes of reason into dark borderlands of cognisance. swedish black metal band totenwelt contributed to illa ki providing vocals for the track. our wish for this release is to help guide the listener to a stripped down state of being, free from thoughts and emotions, alone with nothing but ones living breath.

vent is revisited by an old friend, bringing visions and prophecies of times to come. arbiter’s message is bleak and machinistic, telling of a future where objects and subjects lose their boundaries and entangle. pockets of resistance will never give in to the oppressive powers that be, and will dance to the never ending percussive rhythms and melodies they worship. the revolution is not in sight for them, but never forgotten.

vent is receiving another dose from enfant terrible cindy, and it’s just like the relief of the hair of the dog that bit you. relentless and distorted, cindy weaves hypnotic spells of repetition, reminiscent of basement hardcore, punk and no-wave influences. seldom has one heard such artistry using solely a 909 hihat. to round the package of, rebekah adds her take on the aesthetic and holds nothing back.

vent moves closer to its initial tenet: the love for raw and unsullied techno. miss sunshine returns to vent and brings home two strikingly forceful tracks, with cindy adding to the arsenal with her characteristic grit, and thus the circle is complete as stripped back yield of high grade techno on all cuts.

vent is guided by bana haffar into ethereal vistas open for interpretation. endless suggestions are offered, each fractaling into sparks of insight leading in turn to more suggestions. bana’s compositions display layer after layer of colourful enigmatic veils, hinting at an inner core of darkness whilst remaining playful and intuitive. her ideas expand over the length of this lp, and beyond that, further into our minds and bodies with the reverberations of her sounds.

vent looks inwards to its core and delivers seven meditations from label curator and manager tolga baklacioglu. a series of questions on the same subject: * who dictates what is a transgression - what is a sin?*. the journey inwards is propelled by tolga’s drilling enquiries. on this record you will find nameless tools and a man in the moon pulling his levers, but no answers

vent is happy to deliver yet another take on stripped back essential techno. stephanie sykes has had the opportunity to entertain many dancefloors since her last ep on vent, and we are astonished with her artistic progression. the sonic imagery is smoky and bass heavy, perfect for those heady dancefloor experiences. and as if the package isn’t perfect already, cassegrain delivers an absolute killer remix with raw, truly minimalistic techno.

vent adds yet again new sonic influences to its palette, this time owing thanks to its main curator tolga baklacioglu. with this release, we are pleased to add more than just a sprinkle of industrial and ebm influences to the catalogue of records we are proud to say is the sound of vent. to make things even better, one of more interesting techno producers as of late, and also sweden’s favourite son - daniel andréasson - wanted to lend us a hand to really bring the point home with this record. laden heavy with distortion, this release goes further than one can call the lofi sound - instead the thought is taken to its logical conclusion: distortion is as much an element in its own right as time, space and velocity.
