”topics” is a new album by ljudverket co-founder tuomo väänänen. it explores the styles of dub and dub techno on six tracks, which range from droning soundscapes to more rhythmic affairs which could even work on a dance floor. true to label’s ethos, the production is understated and pays attention to fine details.

only vinyl !! ljudverket is an audio imprint from finland. the platform was started as a channel to release sound inspired by and connected to the contemporary art scene. we are not following any specific path nor do we have any boundaries set, yet we aim to release our own vision of sound as contemporary art. driven by lifetimes dedicated to exploring sound, our releases can meet the public in clubs, galleries and living rooms.

as ljudverket is a heavily art-influenced label, the second release was made as a part of an sound installation for an exhibition in helsinki. rasmus hedlund & tuomo väänänens 2x12 inch album consists of 80 locked groove loops, 20 on each side. the installation itself holds 4 vinyl players, where every side of the records are represented as a sound source, from where the participators could themselves choose a random loop and thus create their own soundscapes. this is one for the collectors, and no more than 200 copies are being produced.
