planet rhythm continues the various artists series with a versatile 4-tracker containing tracks by planet rhythm regulars and a relative newcomer to the scene. the a-side features a deep groover by yan cook as well as an atmposheric track by promising act alpi. the b-side is home to two tracks that lean more toward the harder and more repetitive part of the label’s broad spectrum.

the precision of naming takes away from the uniqueness of seeing. in the case of yan cook, all come together in harmony, yan joins the label with 4 very well crafted cuts, after a very steady profile and career, now is the time to make him shine even more.

delsin records inertia series is back with a powerful four tracker from yan cook. the producer from ukraine has also released delsin s main label and associated ann aimee, as well as planet rhythm and cooked. he makes straight up techno that arrests your attention and does just that again here. toucan is first and is a spangled, underwater techno track with gurgling lines wrapping round shuffling percussion and insistent drums. it s one to get into your head, while puffin is more physical, with more warped synths and paddy drums woven together into a fluid, rippling groove that never lets up. the drums on dialogue are deep and land with real resonance while dubby chords rattling out to the horizon. last of all flamingo is the most manic of the lot, with hi speed synths and booming drums all coming together to make for powerful, sub shaking and room filling techno madness.

yan cook has positioned himself as one of the key figures in modern day techno and without hesitation one of the faces of the planet rhythm imprint. this time around he returns to his warm home with the eight-track counting “drifted island”. even though it’s listed as an ep it’s almost a full length album in its own right. yan cook takes the listener on a voyage that covers all sides of his musical spectrum. sturdy technoid rhythms and otherworldly structures make drifted island a true work of versatility.

planet rhythm usual yan cook teams up with fellow ukranian artist mays for a tough collaboration record named “old friend ep”. on the opening-track “fixed” the tone is being set for this being an utter dancefloor effort with the extended use of fx and modulation. “old friend” resumes in this fashion bringing a glitchy atmosphere of some kind together with matches chords and outlandish drum work. the b-side opens up with the futuristic tones of “coder” which is based around tough synth arpeggiators and ferocious kick drums. “tesla” continues down the road of futuristic techno with it’s strong and extended fx works and intrusive synthesizer sounds.

ukrainian techno artist yan cook is swiftly turning into one of planet rhythm’s usual suspects. the follow up to this years xx lp comes in the form of a 12” package called “loophole ep” 4 deep and dark techno cuts that represent the yan cook sound to the fullest. expect swells, cleverly placed arps that are all part of his rhythm driven signature sound.

with a steady stream of releases from both the usual suspects aswell as young artists, planet rhythm continues to expand their catalog. politics of greed ep features a selection of artists currently involved with the label. debutants responder and arkvs team up with the label’s rising stars yan cook and twr72 for a strong solid techno four-tracker.

it’s been a while since planet rhythm released an entire lp project. who else to thread into album territories than ukranian planet rhythm stalwart yan cook. after releasing various efforts through the rotterdam based imprint over the last few years, yan cook comes up with a double lp consisting of 2 discs with 2 tracks on each side. whilst shifting between various sides of the yan cook identity the xx lp proves to be an effective and bulding package over mechanic techno sounds with strong builds and exciting taints of fx.

another solid va on the prruk imprint. usual suspect yan cook opens up with the sturdy techno-cut *canyon*. steve parker delivers some hypnotic acid business. boys of the moment twr72 come up with an intrusive bit of strongarm techno. alderaan closes down this ep with his arp anthem xem.

vibe009 is here! on colored balck/orange 12- vinyl, signed by yan cook (planet rithm/delsin) a techno-industrial track that has the essence of this ukranian producer... big kick, ground noises, a 4/4 to break the dancefloor. andre kronert (odd/even) an a2 for the first remix with his analog trade mark. marco faraone retouched this track with a powerfull techno-detriot flavour. great. to close this vinyl on b2 the dub-techno master quantec (echochord). deep techno trip.
