die beiden hamburger djs rich vom dorf und fabs# haben sich mal wieder richtig ins zeug gelegt. im august erscheint eine vinyl mit der katalognummer t&n025 beim hamburger label tach und nacht mit tracks, die wie für den sommer gemacht sind. unter freiem himmel entfalten sich die melodien und nehmen einen mit auf eine reise, auf der gute laune garantiert ist. regelmäßig auch weit entfernt vom nördlichen hamburg sieht man rich vom dorf hinterm dj-pult stehen. fabs# überzeugt auch hier wieder einmal mit seinem sound, der sein können schon mehrfach auf releases beim hamburger label tach&nacht unter beweis stellte. als remixer wurden keine geringeren als kollektiv ost und thomas lizzara engagiert. pressung auf grau marmoriertem vinyl.

schon viel wurde darüber spekuliert, von genau welchem dorf rich denn eigentlich komme. lauscht man seinen neusten produktionen, drängen sich unwillkürlich mediterrane assoziationen auf: seichte gitarrenklänge werden von der warmen abendbrise herüber getragen, als die betörende >senorita rita< mit temperamentvoll wiegendem hüften vorüber schlendert. ihr südländischer charme bezaubert auch die trompeter, deren leidenschaftliches spiel in >el chicacabra< schwerelos über feurigen rhythmen und waberndem bassdruck zu schweben scheint. und so ist die fiesta bereits voll im gange, als acker-matador mollono.bass die plaza betritt. mit >mochacho & chicacabra< gelingt es ihm, die ohnehin schon euphorische stimmung nochmals anzuheizen, indem er seinen unverwechselbaren groove mit fiedler- und trompeteneinlagen vertwistet

rennbahn records welcomes a new member of the family, rich.vom.dorf. grown up in a small village at the lovely countryside in mecklenburg-vorpommern, he decided to move to hamburg a couple of years ago. his debut ep on rennbahn bauernglueck in a certain way reflects the way of life at a countryside through his own intrumental techhouse style. if you listen carefully enough, you might be able to picture how the farmer is dancing with his wife on his farm, after doing his daily job. this ep puts nearly everybody a smile on his face, while dancing open air. basti grub ( desolat / hoehenregler ) produced a remix with a hypnotic & driving touch, which is also simply perfect for the summer. altogether 4 tracks with a lot of good mode!

im dorf tomari auf der hauptinsel der präfektur kagoshima stieß shotaro aoyama auf ein volkslied, das von den dorfbewohnern während eines bon-tanzes gesungen wurde.

da die sänger verschwunden waren, waren die kassetten, die die inselbewohner besaßen, die einzige tonquelle, und die musik wurde auf der grundlage dieser kassetten produziert.

salar salman (1959), ein außergewöhnlicher musiker und komponist, wurde in kirkuk, einer stadt in kurdistan, im norden des irak, geboren. als kleiner junge war er in seinem dorf für seine reiche und warme stimme berühmt. als er sein talent als gitarrist entwickelte, galt er als einer der besten gitarristen des nordiraks.

nach der ep-reihe -the bells- und der single -don’t feel like- erscheint nun jatas albumdebüt -mexico-. jata ist das soloprojekt des berliner multi-instrumentalisten, produzenten, remixer und songschreibers jacob vetter. der vorab-track -monster- ist ein pulsierender slow-beat mit verwehtem saxofon an der schnittstelle von soul und r&b, bei dem man nicht zuletzt an den späten marvin gaye denkt. geschrieben und aufgenommen hat jata -mexico- im wesentlichen in frankreich, wo er seit anderthalb jahren wohnt. hier, in einem kleinen dorf in der nähe von genf, fand er die ruhe für seinen bislang größten musikalischen wurf. aber letztlich ist natürlich auch das wieder nur eine zwischenstation für den suchenden reisenden jata. abgemischt hat er -mexico- gemeinsam mit ash workman in london.
