ofo the rock company (originally known as ofo the back company) were nigeria’s first acid-rock band. blending hendrix and deep purple with shamanism and a pro-black philosophy, they cut their teeth at fela kuti’s afrika shrine, developing a fearsome live reputation that intimidated every other band in lagos. no one wanted to follow the guys from ofo, not even fela himself.

soundway records are to release the only lp by nigeria’s number-one producer of the 1970s and early 80s, sound president odion iruoje. available for the first time since the 80’s, it’s limited to 1000 copies worldwide and is pressed on 180g vinyl. the album features a limited tip-on sleeve.

after the label launch of taped artifact earlier this year with an ep by label co-founder kevin arnemann, the second release is coming by courtesy of los angeles resident natan h. with his erklingen ep, natan h serves up four tracks of emotive dub-influenced house and techno excursions, showcasing his inimitable musical qualities.
