rough house rosie dedicates the sixth release to its japanese listeners with a four track compilation from four different japanese producers. legendary takayuki shiraishi (aka planetoid) releases a track nightfall which was first out in 2002 on a cd slow shoutin . he is teamed up with mitsuaki komamura renowned for his unique sound on record label weedis. miruga (ethereal sound / badance) delivers a strong deep track on b1, while mahal has his debut with a catchy bass driven tune as a final track of the ep.

mitsuaki komamura (one of the most interesting japanese electronic musician of late), known for his releases on his own imprint weedis, crosses the continents and lands a splendid ep on terpsichore. inspired by nature (the slanted butterfly way of flying), early chicago house, dub and experimental music, the butterfly effect ep is the combination of all the aforementioned. atmospheric pads combining heavy kick drums, raw rhodes keys and dark ambiances, mitsuaki komamura manages a sublime and subtle mixture.

second release on this japanese label. vintage moon is inspired on sword&sworcery game for the i-phone that has a nostalgic feel. three tracks rooted in the traditions of the detroit/chicago house from the early 2000s from people such as terrence dixon, theo parrish and the likes. analogue madness!

addictive beatdown house tracks inspired by the athmosphere of a foggy san fransisco. memories of days with good friends hanging out in a foggy city gives a melancholic feel, but the masculine grooves make this a fierce release that works well in the club. a nice combination that goes back to some hiphop roots and a love for deeper intense house music that works in the club. great start for this new japanese label from tokyo!

in the years following the world war two, japan developed one of the most insatiable, dynamic and diverse markets for jazz. for a crucial period of little over a decade - from the late 1960s to the early 1980s - japanese jazz culture progressed at an astonishing rate, producing an extraordinary array of artists, recordings and record labels that created some of the most forward thinking and impressive jazz to be committed to tape. this amazing journey is explored on ‘j jazz’.

vester koza will release his self titled ep on his new imprint maslo early 2013. the release features four tracks that brought him to the attention of workshops even tuell and lowtec, ben ufo, xdb, madteo, jane fitz and mitsuaki komamura with a batch of demo recordings that circulated late last year. comprised of four selected tracks written over a twelve month period in his east london studio, this debut ep is the first of a planned series on the label to be released this year. the works have been mastered by helmut erler at dubplates and mastering berlin.
