after excellent debut album on mule musiq,oskar is back with four remixed tracks. legendary osunlade remixed most club friendly track on the album and it’s more dj tool jazzy deep house. oskar’s buddy edward remix is simply epic.very imaginative breakbeats track. frankfurt’s bodin&jacob’s remix is kind of mash up of some tracks on the album. it’s kind of early electro stuff. metamatics is well known in the end of 90’s.we like his moniker norken. hope you dig some of remixes!

oskar offermann and his frequent collaborator and label mate edward are two of the brightest rising stars in contemporary deep house music. as head of the esteemed white imprint, offermann has an envious catalog spread across his own label, aim, and japans storied mule musiq, edward has mostly confined his releases to white apart from a single drop on the mysterious giegling, and some outstanding remixes on other powerhouse labels. since their appearance in 2007, the pair of berliners has only one collaboration record between them in spite of a close association, large individual discographies, and frequent pairings behind the decks. it is thus with great ceremony that thema announces their north american vinyl debut with the four-track ep, verses.

ok, first of all i want to reveal a myth: these infotexts are mostly writtenby the labelowners themselves, not by hard-working editors. so what happens, when the guy behind a label releases his own music? well, either he is a well-organised deadline-machine and he asks somebody capable of doing this stupid job, or he realizes:
>oh fuck the distribution whats to do their work and they needed thissheet weeks ago...< so in the end, hes gotta do it himself: of course,now i could tell you how great this record is (what it is!) and what ahell of a motherfucker i am (also true!)... but i prefer telling yousentimental other bullshit instead... :)
this ep marks a newbeginning in my career. since some time now, >the fog burns off< and we get more and more stable in the buisness. last year we were on the road quite a bit and we found many new friends. people from other cities, who believe in the same things, who do similar stuff and who are of the same kidney as we are. so that makes me very happy, which reflects in the music. for the first time i feel like coming home, although we are at the beginning of our journey into the industry yet.

oskar offermann is the boss of berlin based label white. you know their quality deep house output. title track on a side is a good mixture of early new york house sound and nu school german deep house sound. if you are following the release of smallville or laid, you will like this song. on b side, >technicolour dreams< on b 1 is more detroit house manner, it is rough and tough. b2 is a dj-tool version of a side.

klanglich und konzeptionell lehnt sie sich diese veröffentlichung präzise und melancholische an die deutsche schule an. mal mit anleihen aus der wave- und experimentalmusik der 80er jahre, mal mit trance-motiven und zum schluss mit göttlich gestalteten breakbeats. in nur vier tracks bietet sie eine überraschende bandbreite an funktionalität, genau das, was man von einem der langjährigsten residents des robert johnson erwarten würde.
