gut ding will weile haben – und reichlich wumms am besten gleich noch mit dazu. zumindest dann, wenn es sich mal wieder um neue tracks aus dem engsten kreis der monkey maffia handelt. ganze vier jahre ist es inzwischen her, dass uns von dort aus der vorerst letzte teil des monkey maffia music club erreichte, eine 12inchinch voll funky-garstiger biester für die besten dancefloors dieser welt. zwischendurch erschien ein remix hier und ein track dort, doch nun gibts endlich wieder monkey maffia satt. und das nunmehr 75. release auf freude am tanzen gleich noch mit dazu! der soundtrack zu diesem feierlichen anlass kommt von monkey maffia höchstselbst. stichwort wumms: den bringen seine tracks stets genauso mit zur party wie massig tiefe und funk. denn als routinierter dj weiß der mann einfach, was eine lange nacht alles braucht hier wird die gerade bassdrum gebrochen, dort mit endlos warmen synths unterfüttert. in einem track klappern uns bass und percussion die sorgen aus dem leib, im nächsten flirren die pads und vocals sehnsüchtig um die wette. was auch immer passiert, langweilig wird’s auf dieser wie jener weltlichen erdscheibe mit sicherheit nicht.

soeren bodner alias monkey maffia is in his deepest corners most definitely one of these. as 50% the mass of the duo wighnomy brothers he along with ex-dj partner robag delivered for more than 1 and 1/2 decades the thunderous current to the dance floors of the world. his vinyl collection has a great measure of the university library. his creativity is just the same. thats why his release debut is nurtured from a kiln of ideas and inspiration. now finally a new valve of creativity of monkey-energy, as it were. fluctuations and trends of the genre he gives a sly wink to. for him quality and originality is taken seriously. there is not just a mere taste when hearing his track-select ingredients of his own making. the same as in his sets, there is an indisputable >happening< along with a diversity in the pieces. it is quite simply monkey maffia unadulterated - sometimes coaxingly understanding, sometimes psychotic with a thump in the hand and scratching on the head...

25 years of distillery. that’s a memory-laden, even historical event for underground and club culture. or let’s just say, culture in general. getting into detail about the impact, this club had for the last quarter-century, would fill a couple pages, so let’s just state the obvious real quick: distillery has witnessed and co-determined socio-cultural change and progress in its past. be it in its hometown leipzig, basically building up the city’s infrastructure for club culture over the years. or be it on national or international scale. it carries a legacy of being one of the longest-serving and one of the most influential clubs in germany. period.

the huge dancefloor shaker * faith* from oldschool-house affictionado borrowed identity is back with two massive remixes from monkey maffia and thomas stieler both from the freude am tanzen crew. * faith*, starts laidback, but on the dancefloor it is huge monster! smooth keys and soothing vocals paired with a straight kick, thriving drums and a perfect snair to top it off .
all in all a true gem that will not go out ouf style as long as there is house
