x-coast helps to launch brand new label underthesea. the new york-based artist delivers three fresh original cuts complemented with a remix by berlins versatile talent borrowed identity. the ep presents equal parts of groove and energy characterised by x-coast s 90s rave inspirations with a pulsating swell combined with seductive female vocals just like a mermaids allure. on the flip-side, borrowed identity illustrates his stripped down rhythms for a well-rounded 12-inch.
phonk d connects with his buddy le rubrique. they created three real floor bangers with some heavy punch. raw mpc drums, disco samples and classic synths melt into a deep funky mixture. as a very special goodie they could team up with the great borrowed identity, who contributed a pretty nice remix to this ep. watch your feet!
2 raw beauties from tv.out and smallpeople, produced in the owls room, hamburg. plus hypnotic-stripped back borrowed identity rework- don t sleep!

the still fresh label foul & sunk is about to release their fifth ep, and still not an year old! this time ist is the debut single from oldschool-house affictionado borrowed identity. though still young, you could easily believe that he was there since the beginning, producing a fusion of detroit- and chicago- style house with his own up-to-date flavour. and he got the fantastic mark e to finish the aside of this 4-track record with a remix
LESSIZMORE 10 YEARS - FOREVER NEVER MORE (180G VINYL)

when trends in music can come and go in the blink of an eye, ten years is a long time to stay relevant, passionate and real on the frontline. from its roots in the parisian club scene by way of its spiritual home at fuse in brussels and so on to the globe-trotting, multi-faceted entity that it is today, lessizmore is living proof of how to do a decade right.
borrowed identity, the man who makes music non stop, when not travelling the world! borrowed identity, the man who lives in the geman black forest, maybe thats why his music sounds so black! borrowed identity, the man who already released two superb eps on quintessentials and wont stop! borrowed identity, the man who enjoys nature as much as playing techno, house or disco!
a bit over a year after lehults inaugural relase, eddie nesss solo debut is - if not the ending of a full circle - a release with one foot firmly in the short history of our label and the other, already, two steps ahead in the future.
were finishing 2015 with what is pretty much a mini lp by borrowed identity, an inspired producer based in freiburg. theres a lot here and we think you should just listen to and enjoy the record, draw your own conclusions, but what we will say here is the a is ballsy house and the b is tough techno that touches on trance occasionally. get why its called the contrast?
we are pleased to present with * black hole* by meta.83 the work of a consequent defender of the art of analogue production. the soon available track * black hole* by the liebe*detail co-founder jinxed us from the very first moment and it was clear to us, that we d like to add a number of top-class remixes beside the original. for this we were able to win no one else then the tobias and borrowed identity (after his recent release on pastamusik * crack in the box ep*). the powerful acid bassline in the original version as well as in the gravity version creates from the very first moment a hypnotic undertow which seems to keep increasing throughout the track. its masterfully celebrated how to generate effective hits by carefully chosen elements and canny used effects. tobias also devote the focus in his interpretation on the acid aspect but with more dynamics and with a higher beat frequency which will make every techno-djs heart beat faster. when carefully set tones are fading in and out this version gets a brilliant final touch. the remix of borrowed identity sounds in its structure more dirty and rough and though at the same time very fragile. a wonderful gem in pure culture drifting towards a black hole ..... perfect.
the next pastamusik release is from borrowed identity. his musical upbringing was a melange of ethnic music from friends, weird stuff from local libraries and whatever else he could find in record stores and on the internet, this explaining the fact he makes anything from classical to ambient, house to techno, experimental to electro, hiphop to pop music. never content with one musical genre, but always focused on making music with heart and soul, his releases demonstrate a broad musical range and a wide taste. his new release on pastamusik goes from classic house, dynamic techno to acid-jack. styles and applying them to dynamic arrangements that showcase a confident set of studio skills and a deep understanding of what excites the expectant dancer.
repress !!! since launching in early 2014, the hong kong-based homesick series an offshoot of cliche records has provided disco djs with some of the strongest edits of recent times reverential but floor-friendly reworks that get the right balance between re-mastered original parts and house-friendly additional beats. this third volume comes from borrowed identity, a house producer whose edits and productions have appeared on an impressive list of labels. these four reworks are predictably tidy, soulful and groovy, with familiar disco and soul staples being given loose but heavy rearrangements. picking highlights is tough given the high quality threshold, but we re particularly taken with the vibraphone-laden party shuffle of run run run- and lowslung afro-disco strut of you cant change a man-
supported by mr. g , julius steinhoff, mike huckaby, lawrence, ian pooley, art department, eli verveine, oliver hafenbauer...
the huge dancefloor shaker * faith* from oldschool-house affictionado borrowed identity is back with two massive remixes from monkey maffia and thomas stieler both from the freude am tanzen crew. * faith*, starts laidback, but on the dancefloor it is huge monster! smooth keys and soothing vocals paired with a straight kick, thriving drums and a perfect snair to top it off .
all in all a true gem that will not go out ouf style as long as there is house

after carlos nilmmns enthralled us with his expressive true chemistry ep, circus company is delighted to welcome a new character into the fold in the form of fast-rising german artist borrowed identity. based in the southern town of freiburg im breisgau, in just a few years he has already released scores of singles for labels as respected as quintessentials, fina, home taping is killing music and mistress. the borrowed identity sound is direct and uncomplicated, using classic house and techno styles and applying them to dynamic arrangements that showcase a confident set of studio skills and a deep understanding of what excites the expectant dancer.
there is quite a charming story of mutual love between borrowed identity and tenderpark behind this record. the two have been exchanging letters of enthusiasm for each other for quite some time. and so the idea of this joint record has grown very naturally.
born in romania but now living as a political refugee in germany, borrowed identitys name says a lot about his life and his music. never content with one sound or musical genre, but focused always on making music with real heart and soul, his releases demonstrate a broad musical palette and wide ranging tastes. a long time fan of home taping, he delivers a stunning debut for the label criss-crossing the boundaries between various sub-genres of house music, while denying any of them total dominance. in doing so he announces that borrowed identity has found his spiritual home on the imprint and that there is hope for those who still believe...
borrowed identity lives and breathes music. hes unstoppable. hes smooth. his new sexo bonito release is again as fat as his last quintessentials release, that famous love for sale (qe 35).borrowed identity fuses techno, house, funk and more. hes freestyle. and yeah, hes a world champion. we love him truly! enjoy sexo bonito!
with litote ep, torrebros (numoment recordings / komplex de deep) signs here 2 tracks techno oriented. while part i integrates an organ hypnotic groove, part ii approaches an acid feeling by a heady bassline. borrowed identity (mistress recordings / quintessentials) proposes a catchy remix of part ii with the adding of a subtle vocal loop.
fina records marks its fifteenth release with borrowed indentitys *bang bang boogie*, a four-track single of rugged house and disco grooves. romanian born now germany based borrowed identity has been releasing gradually creeping out his electronic compositions since late 2011, releasing through reputable imprints such as supplement facts, pets recordings and quintessentials to name a few. picking up support along the way from leading names such as mike huckaby, move d, brawther and delano smith.
MELTED FACES EP (DJ STEEF, BORROWED IDENTITY RMXS)

torrebros (numoment recordings / komplex de deep) is a french duo delivering in melted faces a subtle collage of samples and original floating textures. melted faces original mix reminds, by its driving beats and low-slung bass, the early nineties detroit moisture. borrowed identity (mistress recordings / quintessentials), a german-romanian producer, which last productions has been released on dvs1s new imprint mistress, gives here his layback and savoureuse interpretation by rearranging the original sample groove. dj steef (retrofit / gomma / numoment recordings), the mysterious french producer, finalized the ep with 2 more deep and downtempo remixes with a catchy and seductive rolling bass perfectly seated on a powerfull drum loop pattern.

this is it, the first release from our man from the dirty south! anaxanders talent is obvious, he has been producing different types of music and has been releasing on labels like local talk or dame music.
time flies as the saying goes and indeed it has as quintessentials celebrates its 10 year anniversary. for a decade this mighty label has been getting some true love and support from all quarters. listening to the back catalogue now, most of the tunes still sound fresh and keep the label s famous deep, raw and real- motto alive. quintessentials has always been a platform for new talents as well as established artists, and with he likes of anton zap, vakula, baaz, the zohar, mcde, nicolas, ugly drums, toby tobias, borrowed identity, mat chiavaroli, 4004, soul of hex, s3a, los goddard, felipe gordon, javonntte to name but a few, it s an enviable back catalogue. this -ten years quintessentials- compilation offers a wide range of styles: detroit inspired techno and house, a ruff chicago stomper, some proper deep house, a discoish tool, and crafty beats and basslines all over! we hope you enjoy this compilation as much as we do. we are ready for the next decade! are you?
very limited pressing of the rebirth 10 remixed release. part 2 features mixes from palms trax, rampa, red axes and borrowed identity coming in a hand stamped sleeve. limited to 150 copies worldwide! first come first served.
a special collection on a limited 2x12 inch vinyl edition including brand new versions of some of the classics of the label in the first ten years.
the package features remixes from some of our favourite artists. the don of chicago deep house ron trent gives his timeless classic touch to without me by tevo howard feat. tracey thorn.
we talked a ton about lph co-owner and -founder jacques renault s debut lp, zentrum, so let s keep things brief and cut to the chase for off zentrum, the first remix ep to be spun off from that record. four remixes, all by lph family members, all burners. first ones by borrowed identity, second one s by nicholas, third ons by massimiliano pagliara, fourth ones by max mcferren. how multicultural! that s two continents and four countries represented! hot dog!
marcel vogel has decided to celebrate the first five years of his edit-heavy lumberjacks in hell imprint in the only way he knows how: by putting together a sumptuous double pack stuffed with fresh new material. in keeping with the way the label has developed in recent times, the eight tracks blend the boundaries between original productions, illicit remixes and straight re edits. there s a celebratory, life affirming feel throughout, from the rubbery bass, d-train synths and rolling house grooves of giovanni damicos the break down, to the bluesy deep house brilliance of borrowed identitys queens bridge. highlights are plentiful elsewhere, too, from the hustlin electrofunk meets disco of vogel s own come on, to the killer synth solos and fuzzy bits of tim jules thrilling slap beat.
as we move into a new year, again start the cogs of labels and artists around the world, this is certainly the case for disc over music as they bring us their first release of 2015. high off the back of exquisite releases in 2014 from luca lozano & mr. ho and nicson, disc overs first installment of 2015 comes from label head tim green - a three track ep bursting with two classic tg productions and grooves which is then given another dimension with a remix from the talented german born producer borrowed identity. the ep kicks off with the aptly named scar - a track which when heard, truly makes it mark. it sets the tone for the rest of the ep with its prominent bassline and haunting howls whilst dreamlike keys bounce and float above. track two, we thought is taken down a gear but keeps all of the groove built from scar. it begins with a simple trademark tg bassline and is allied with light and free singular keys. the listener is then joined by vocals which along with the previous elements take you on a real trip. borrowed identity speeds things up right away with his remix of we thought. the track is morphed into a dancefloor groove with the comforting vocals darkened, cut and reworked on top of an unpredictable and fluctuating bassline. managing to keep the identity of tims original the track becomes something completely different and certainly makes you feel you want to take the trip
the panorama bar series on ostgut ton returns with volume 6 and brings ten new exclusive tracks on two eps all taken from the panorama bar 06 mix compilation by panorama bar and berghain resident ryan elliott. part i features contributions from newworldaquarium, roman flügel, terrence dixon, borrowed identity and tuff city kids
detuned pianos, rough house beats and soulful vocal cuts makes doing your duty a deep, club oriented track with a classic feel. borrowed identitys beautiful remix conserves the original essence of the track and adds stabby techno elements and a punchy bassline, turning into a perfect peak-time tune for the rougher sets. pressure points is a dark, introspective track with a funky bassline that is suitable for the dancefloor, octo octa creates a deeper, smoother alternative to the original.
after the excellent reception of the first instalment, ander-trax is back yet again with more supremely crafted tracks from label head and all round gentleman alex-ander. nobody really expected such talent to emanate from coatbridge, did they? then again, wasnt the fella responsible for that blueboy *remember me* thing from coatbridge? maybe that was airdrie.
guy gerbers supplement facts imprint signals the end of 2012 with a various artist sampler entitled things have changed ep. featuring a few household names alongside some future stars, alexkid, borrowed identity & mechanical soul brother, gab rhome and andrew grant & lomez, all appear on this release filled with quality and diversity.
