the 12 moons of ikutaro, das ursprünglich 1993 erscheinen sollte, erzählt die geschichte von shioi, einem jungen mädchen, das sich auf eine intergalaktische reise begibt, um den tod ihres vaters zu rächen. ihre reise führt sie in das sonnensystem von ikutaro, wo sie jeden mond besuchen muss, um den moon boss zu besiegen und schließlich den system controller zu zerstören. mit hilfe ihres „liquid sound device“ reist sie auf ihrem „modell jp8080“ zwischen den monden hin und her und trifft unterwegs auf verschiedene freunde und feinde.

occasionally, a record — or sometimes even a dj — simply falls out of the sky, like so many unexplained showers of fish, or midnight deliveries of frozen piss from passing jumbo jets. and so it was when dj steve first came to our attention in 2011 via tim sweeney, who discovered him quite by chance djing in the italian seaside town of tropea.

the debut release from detroit based dj steve miller is a funky 3 track house ep. outer zone is a bumpy, feel good track sure to get the crowd moving. fire boosters is slightly darker with a distinct detroit tech- house feel. love in the stars has a great female vocal snip. tasty!

a few years ago i took a journey to europe searching for a new sound. people along the journey had been telling me about this guy from tropea, italy called dj steve (named after his favorite musician, stevie wonder).
he is a butcher there by day, but at night he is the dj at a club called casablanca. i made my way to this tiny town in the south of italy and found dj steve. his 12 hour dj sets opened my eyes. this guy was the real deal. he was playing dubplates, vinyl, cassettes, and reel-to-reels. all special edits he had done over the years. i couldnt believe what i was hearing.
