luciano s cadenza imprint welcome fresh blood into their reputable fold of producers for the stunning debut cadenza ep from davide benedetti. italian davide, better known as davidino, has been making unforgettable impressions over recent years with his spell binding and peak time music, cadenza now proudly introduce davide benedetti and the >through the years< ep. kick starting with hearty kicks and menacing sirens, >can t do this< reeks of euphoria from the offset as tenaciously strung hats slam, cymbal crashes shimmer and tempos accelerates beyond bounds. flooding the dance floor with sheer force, davide plays with the core structure of classic house and techno music in >can t do this< as he builds and breaks for the ultimate fist punching opener. on the flipside, >through the years< presents >moody elise< with a dark and sultry bass line bellowing through the lower end firmly into our memories. chopping the track s structure with immaculate precision, moments of sophisticated brass break as spitting drums bind the groove once more. as always, davide injects his contagious energy into the ep with stomping, modern house music on >moody elise< as it begs for late night tales and debaucherous behaviour.

tony ollivierra begins 2011 by getting down with the machine sound. bordering on acid-funk, this ep really gets it shakin. the title track jericho, reeks of the latter days of disco with a deep bass line that fades in and takes control of the party. a warm synth chord then kicks in along with some strings which build up to a peak time climax. nag champa captures a deep and surreal groove with a sweet aromatic feel that definitely is burning. the dark bass line entangles the listener in a sensual moment while a resonant synth riff tops it off. on the flip, midi aura begins with an uncompromising synth bass line that does not quit. the sequence bubbles onward and a thick chord sweeps through the arrangement opening up into a placid apex of harmony. the aura of this midi is feel good all the way. lastly jack box, another acid track that works the cutoff and resonance into a climax of delightful poly rhythm and melody. jericho will be a very limited vinyl press and will be the final project on the ibex music label. keep your ears open for his next label venture which will be introduced this summer.

first vinyl pressing of twin infinitives since the original vinyl issue in 1990. after moving to san francisco, royal trux released the highly experimental double album twin infinitives. this album remains an extreme work on the periphery of rock music, worthy of being compared to lou reeds metal machine music and suicides debut album. at only four subdivided tracks, none of which clock in under 15 minutes, the record has plenty of time to weave a mesmerizing web that is sometimes menacing, sometimes startling. for all of its high brow allusions, twin infinitives nearly reeks of vice, a dark, sordid feel pervades the record, and the listener can almost picture the band recording in a filthy apartment in the middle of the night in various states of intoxication and debauchery.
