from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. its loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts. whiskey disco no.13, ruff n stuff, can hardly be contained on a single plate of wax. all four tracks have been tested and audience approved! on the a, deep&discos rework of i wanna dance with somebody and alkalinos ruff n stuff are both stripped back and bass laden grooves. the b has two mid-tempo grooves from newcomer, debonair and portuguese duo, johnwaynes.

first up is >waves< by norwegian dynamo the treatment. after the success of his on & on ep, as well as an overflowing vat of remixes, in 2011, the treatment is back to form with this flawless rework of surfaces >falling in love<, a surprising yet harmonious blend of nu disco, classic house chords and electro – a cerebral record that also highlights his instinctive side. we all love a piano riff too, of course.

pillow talk continue to impress with their unique body of sounds on the latest wolf + lamb release. masters of weaving a variety of styles and influences with sumptuously nostalgic live vocals, this debonair san fran trio is fast becoming a prolific force on the global scene. its difficult to pigeonhole the pillowtalk sound since its purveyors are such experts in playful eclecticism. shifting the tempo and joining the dots from retro soul leanings to deeper electronic, pillowtalk is a melting pot of influences and voices that takes you on a new ride with each sonic wave. bursting with original vocal flair, the far from heaven ep is a steamy four-tiered affair, between the sheets and under the disco ball where tales of lust and desire unfold to soundtrack of 80s sex music and soulful house.

supported by jimpster, danny howells, andy cato, ben watt, roy davis, luke solomon, tiger stripes,.. pooled music returns with another solid release from label owner, and all round house debonair, ian pooley. more class productions here, with two versions of the unique sounding the dark white and holes in my shoes , a great track that nods heavily to those classic early house productions. proceedings kick off with the lo slung funk of the dark white (juno mix) , sounding like the love child of adonis and moodyman this seemingly simple groove will slowly bury its way into your head.
