eclipsemusic is pleased to announce the sixth release introducing the talented canadian producer matt thibideau. he is known in toronto, detroit, montreal, & berlin for having performed with the ikes of mike huckaby, akufen, richie hawtin andreleasing music on labels such as mike shannons cynosure and sub-static with hisnew wave-industrial band repair.. matt has a very personal approach to making music that refuses to use software instruments and give free expression to his unlimited passion for the sound of his analog synthesizers. he records directly through a mixer playing his live instruments. this particular feature shines through his deep and warm sound! >when its time< is a typical techouse style track with a solid structure consisting of a straight and bouncy rhythm, deep bass with futuristic chords and techy arpeggiators running over it. the track starts very deep develops into a more raw sound that leaves no survivors on the dance floor! >holding on to you< is a much more dub-oriented track this time we have ambient and rarefied atmosphere which develops progressively over a repetitive bass line and drum machine rhythm with a mixture of chords and pads typically inspired by the basic channel sound. the title track >night drive< (licensed from matts obsolete components record label) is a masterpiece of deep house music vaguely reminiscent of many mid-nineties works from labels like guidance recordings and wave music, that will become an instant classic for all deep-house heads. very melodic and groovy bass line with a mixture of pads, reverberated chords and many delayeffected elements. 7 minutes of pure deepnes

10 years ago toronto’s matt thibideau (aka altitude/coordinates) contributed one of the finest tracks in cynosure history. today matt returns with three brand new cuts and a re-mastered version of the cyn001 classic track entitled “archenar”. asphalt starts things off with a cutting edge syncopated groove that precisely reflects the cynosure sound over the years. a minimal, swingin, synth stab work out giving you the right amount of funk. archenar smooths things out with some lush pads and a dreamy reverb on the drums creating a subtle washed effect, perfect for the early morning blur. but let’s not forget to mention the killer ms-20 sub bass line.. ahhh so deep. icebox comes next with some icy precision fm syncopation in the mix. accompanied by matt’s signature classic synth percussion grooves. full of melody and warmth this track would melt most refrigerators down. last but not least the outside b track entitled 30 story drop. following suite with matt’s previous releases on blue records under the alias altitude 30 story drop dives deep into basic channel influenced dub and drops some serious bass. matt thibideau’s return to the label has been long anticipated and proves that cynosure’s mandate of releasing timeless uncompromising music is still very much alive 10 years on

hot on the heels of their recent twelve from tilman and florist, charmin records are very excited to be motoring onto their third release with this excellent va bringing in material from new friends of the label. the east german imprint expand their sound to take in rougher techno, acid, and also more hypnotic and spacious territory. the artists on the roster are label founder florist, stanley schmidt, matt thibideau and billy dalessandro and the result is a diverse excursion that stays true to the core ethos of the label.
