the kid is back! mister jacob otten as known as kid sublime has been delivering twelve-inch discs of love to the international house scene for many years now. his sound is soulful, purposefully energetic, very playful and always straight from the heart. let his creations raise your spirits and make you feel insipred, for music is lifes greatest expression of love.

people must jam s ninth record is from one of our favourite djs and producers. a guy who has a ridiculously large back catalogue and in our opinion it is a crime that some of his records haven t received bigger recognition. a true master of house and hip hop music, kid sublime has been putting out amazing records since 2001. his own label dopeness galore literally does exactly what it says on the tin. even before we launched people must jam s label we wanted kid sublime to be a part of it. now finally we are stoked to present this ep... four serious cuts for four different vibed floors - look out! first up kid s homage to techno legend ben sims with bang like sims a driving deep techno groove. strong percussion, deep stabs and that unrelenting beat are going to ensure this one gets some love on the harder edged, heavier dance floors. we the people heads a little down the tribal route with some afro inspired percussion, haunting samples and that kalimba! dropping a really infectious riff before beautiful piano melodies drift in and out of the mix. wonderful stuff. the title track i like em dirty , we feel, is a lesson in proper deep house. classic sounding house beats, little guitar licks, deep stabs and the vocal sample combine for this perfect house cut. massive. the ep is rounded out with another cut in tribute to the legend that was kenny hawkes. another master of his craft - kenny sadly now passed on but his spirit is well and truly alive in this fitting tribute. one 4 kenny features strong percussion, low bass, deep stabs and slamming beats = cracking stuff

hot shot sounds expand their remit with the launch of peddlin trax, a new houseorientated series to keep you riding all day and into the night. first up is the legend of amsterdam s house and hip-hop scene, the master kid sublime, anyone that follows his work on the dopeness galore label will agree this is a fine choice. real hipsters don t dance tees off in a kenny dope does b-boy house kind of vibe, whilst -that ringtone shit- is on more of a dog in the night tip. down below, both get high and one for ibiza are pure house bliss, the sort of cuts you love to slip in the mix, whilst kid sublime heads off into buttery beatdown boogie territory on closing track s.e.x.x.x. met jouwww. a strong start to the series.

new kid sublime house fire, a quick 300. tip! kid sublimes back in the ballroom series, a homage to the first clubs appearing and dance music like disco, r&b and house was played. a tribute to “the warehouse” from chicago on the westloop (hence the loop –side b), where frankie knuckles (r.i.p.) used to dj as a resident. beside the term “house” derived from that particular era, the first volume of the back in the ballroom series is a record where kid sublime takes you back to the dance-floor. for the fans of that timeless sound by pioneers like steve -silk- hurley, frankie knuckels or a nowadays kenny dixon jr..ready for another kid sublime classic? b-boy house with that amsterdam twist!!

three years after his debut album basement soul kid returns in september 2008 with his darkest release to date. expect hip hop, sublime style, with guest appearances by camp lo, frank n dank, illa j, defari among others. until then, lets warm things up with this twelve! on the title track kid finds himself in his own world on a beat which was started out life as remix for the brazilian/dutch super group zuco 103. as a result - kid rhymes on the beat himself leaving you exposed to his world. the soulful pityful times appears as an (short) skit on the album while the extended cut is only available on the b side of this twelve inch. besides kid sublime this track features amsterdams finest vocal weapon, ninthe on the hook. kid sublime toured with zuco 103 and guru as a dj, and co founded the rednose distrikt collective, which he left to focus on his debut album basement soul. after that he put out records with frank n dank, les deal, wouda and did remixes for the likes of harry swinger, rob scott, recloose, j davey...

what is footwork house jam (fw)? first of all it is a long-running club night in moscow, russia, dedicated to real house music and house dance culture. started in 2010 as a small project, influenced by sound and visual esthetics of 90 s house parties in new york and chicago, fw soon has become the biggest creative community of dancers in russia, gaining strong local following and international reputation. it is the birthplace and home for leading moscow dance crews. various artists ep -footwork house jam #1- is a homage to the global house culture and the eponymous moscow-based club night in particular. the idea behind this compilation is to provide the fuel for house dance culture and house movement to expand further on, blurring the boarders and eliminating the prejudices of the present times.
