just before the end of the year one of detroits oldest electro/techno labels comes with a sweet double pack and a repress of that amazing eris dew release!

new release on eye teeth by israel vines featuring the hybrid techno bass electro anthem “gatekeepers”, the dark techno gem “unscathed” and the ambient “repose in dub”. we started this sublabel as way of exploring pure and experimental techno in an entirely contemporary context (where it often uses historical lenses and a wider musical context). this is techno from detroit and america, not detroit techno. we would like to see american techno evolve, and this new imprint is an attempt to be a catalyst in that arena. this ep was pre-mastered by neel at enisslab studio in rome. the vinyl was mastered by carl at trutone and pressed at archer records in detroit.

borrowed language returns with their second release this year, and the second collaborative effort to date from chicago-based producer/dj jeff pietro & label owner israel vines. following jeff pietros future classic >still< (charted by surgeon, peter van hoesen, silent servant, and many others) and justin iveys exemplary >apparition bay< (which won favor by the likes of rob hall and dj pete) was never going to be an easy task, but vines & pietro prove that they are more than up to the challenge – this is perhaps an even stronger statement of intent than their earlier joint effort, >distance no object< (blx-2).
