we were very excited indeed to see the third release from the quite promising love notes from brooklyn imprint! marco zenin was a featured artist on the last release under his dj octopus guise, and this time he s featured again with his other project, the more techy/ more minimal die roh, who recently had an underground athem with their release on black venison. the duo here seemingly lean their sounds in the direction of the label s and offer two-cut ep which is their deepest effort yet to date. surely more djs will play the dancier a side, behind 6000, but for us, the groovier b side and title track genghis kahn is the choice cut. label owner, nathaniel jay, continues in the precendent he s set with each release having its own unique love note,authored by him, making every one of these records collectable.

die roh are the legendary dj octopus (enlightened wax/hypercolour) and the mighty sagat (boss of noho records). for the fourth release of muscle records they have hosted in the brenta studios a southern talented musician known as okee ru (enetrbt/ deependence). the fruit of their occasional encounters are 3 craggy dancefloor cuts of disco infected technoid shuffled 808 beats and quirky samples, together they have blended old-school uncouthness with modern lechery. their dissolute country fellow lucretio (restoration/machines state) has delivered a methane-fuelled remix of -non è la rai-, adding illicit 90s happiness to the original beats. a remix that could easily cross-refer to his hard-to-find tunes on warm sounds.

mus welcomes die roh to the fold! veneto strikes again with this project from marco zanin and luca segato from riviera del brenta. their first release on mus *a date with barbara* is a 4 track ep with a seriously solid groove, sweet vocals and a warm, analogue sound.

new release and new debut on vae victis, this time from the italian duo die roh. three original tracks plus an additional remix from uk rising star tessela, artist already known for his previous releases on all city, punch drunk and 2nd drop. an ep with emotional, warm, percussive but spacey detroit inspired tracks, where drums and pads are fused together in a one take madness arrangement. ranging from dupstep inspired to the rawer side of techno. all pure analogue tracks recorded without a computer to give them a lively edge. check!

the third release on the society of silence label offers 2 new tracks from the french duo, and remixes from london based ivvvo and italian duo die roh (aka sagats and dj octopus) rounding up a perfectly crafted analog techno and raw house ep. the opening track « 8th » with abrasive percussion, fueled by atmospheric synths, followed by «first section » a crawling beat, tape sounds seeping in, surrounded with twisted synths.b side remixes by ivvvo submerges us in deep exploration, with throbbing minor melodic keys and whispers, the remix of die roh a stirring groove with analogue warmth.
