A longtime collaborator with the label and one of our favourite producers, we're delighted that the supremely talented Modus has chosen Alien Communications as the home for his much-anticipated debut album.

'Goodbye Esmond, Hello Kelvin' is a lockdown-inspired exploration of electronic music, diverging from the techno-centric approach of Modus's previous releases and delving into diverse tastes which have informed his musical background.

Whilst the 'doof' comfort blanket doesn’t feature, you’ll still find plenty of nods towards classic Detroit electro, European house, UK IDM, ambient & Japanese electronica. The end result is a melodic expanse of 15 superb tracks, with these influences charting a linear path across the 2xLP release.

Inspiration for the title comes from two Glasgow streets, with half of the album written at each. These surroundings have left a permanent mark on both Modus and the music.
