the bit ist die zweite zusammenarbeit zwischen aidan baker (nadja / hypnodrone ensemble), simon goff (jóhann johannsson / hildur gudnadottir) und thor harris (swans, shearwater, thor & friends). in anlehnung an das noplace-album von 2017 geht the bit einen ähnlichen weg in bezug auf den aufnahmeprozess, als das trio einen tag lang auf einer europatournee in den voxton studios in berlin improvisierte. das ergebnis wurde dann bearbeitet und zu sechs hypnotischen tracks geformt, die mit schönheit und leichtigkeit abfließen.
