Brendon Moeller makes a neat fit on Vancouver Island s finest outpost of dusky avant-techno. Moeller has of course turned his hand to many different shades of rhythm over the course of his career, but there s something in his blown out, dub-smoked sound that aligns perfectly with the Autumnal introspection of Silent Season. The results live up to the promise, from the warm but melancholic throb of Glow to the oppressive sub pulse of Abandon. The Hike takes things into more abstract territory, and then Yearning rounds the record off on an oblique swinging techno tip trasnmitted from out in the leftfield.
