little heater is the brand new solo record from freakwaters catherine irwin and features guest appearances from bonnie prince billy, tara jane oneil (rodan, retsin), elizabeth mitchell and daniel littleton (ida), marc orleans (d charles speer & the helix, sunburned hand of the man), and jean cook (jon langford, the mekons). this 12 inch lp version includes artworked inner sleeve and free download coupon.

gerwin & nuage return to the fokuz imprint once again. on the a side we have a colab between the two who again prove to be incredible talents. hidden dreams uses a beautifull soundscape/atmosphere on top of a stripped back drum line and a deep bass. the vocal gives just that bit of soul while still maintaining the depth. on the flip we have here to stay by gerwin. again some deep vibes, except this one is a slightly more dancefloor orientated track with bouncey drums, a superb bassline and heavy delayed vocals.

on the a side for part two of the fokuz050 series canadian producer mutt delivers again with a track calledwomack:soulful samples, tightly chopped breaks,a funky bassline and heavy subdrops.quality drum and bass with mutts signature sound all over it.on the flipside we dive into the deeper spectrum of drum and bass with a track called back in the moment by gerwin & nuage,a duo that has recently been making waves with their production.the deep bassline with the atmospheric vocals on top works very well on this track,making it the perfect b side to this ep.

the new cls018 by mutt, dave whalen, gerwin & nuage is a real sampleheavy gem. the a side sarahby mutt and dave whalen is a real liquid burner with a a sample from the legendary hall and oates. with nice placed basses and drums to back the sample up, this is one to easily recieve sunday afternoon radioplay. the b side: stolen hearts by gerwin and nuage is a somewhat more emotive one. with a real balanced sound and deep piano chords this is a real deep one. notice how a jazzy trumpet sometimes comes in and fades again. really musical.

the arrival of label lotus lands first ever lp, in the form of a previously unreleased monster of a project. as youd expect limited to 500. the amazing modern soul music of darwin jones, as recorded in 1978 at sly stones home fortress studio. this lp includes 8 of the heaviest tunes from the full 17 they managed to unearth from tape. tip!

following his cmj performances, darwin deez has become a hugely hyped artist, with nme strongly pushing him for a 2010 break through, including a radar feature and numerous blogs support him. constellations is a nigh on untouchable mini pop classic, rolling together ebullient guitar strokes, handclaps, and a childlike sense of awe into a fizzing ball and kicking it high into the air.
