deluxe, will sessions’ debut lp of original material, contains tracks previously available as limited press 7- records, freshly remastered for a full length album. the album contains guest appearances from detroit legends allan barnes (blackbyrds) and amp fiddler (parliament/funkadelic), as well as florida’s own king of funk rickey calloway, and relative new-comer coko (funk night records). the album is a collection of singles reminiscent of classic funk and soul with deep breaks, tight rhythm section, blazing horns, and raw vocal performances.

the second release from will sessions’ newly launched record label sessions sounds. this is the frst collaboration between will sessions and elzhi since the critically acclaimed mixtape, elmatic.
the a side features an explosive extended verse from elzhi, on top of an anthemic beat performed and produced by will sessions. the b side is an instrumental edit that takes you deeper into the production of will sessions.

fresh for 2017 is the first release from will sessions own sessions sounds label. first up is a collaboration with detroit legend amp fiddler (parliament/funkadelic), a single featuring two songs from their forthcoming collaborative lp. lost without you is a modern boogie anthem featuring the narrative lyrics of amp fiddler, the on point background vocals of the dames brown, and the tight performance and production of will sessions. seven mile is a hard hitting soul track that takes you on a lyrical ride through detroit, featuring lush strings and hard hitting breaks.

will sessions is one of detroits hottest, most active live bands, having recently collaborated with bad meets evil (eminem and royce da 5 9), elzhi, danny brown, mayer hawthorne, black milk among many more. mix takes 3 / 4 marks the first time will sessions third and fourth installments in the popular mix takes series are available on vinyl.

will sessions impressed with the meticulous craftsmanship of their studio re-workings of the classic tracks on >the elmatic instrumentals<. with their new two-part lp >mix takes<, the five-piece band is taking a similar approach in recreating some of their favorite songs - only this time it was all recorded and filmed live in real time. whether referencing music by jazz greats herbie hancock and bob james or reinterpreting beats by j dilla, madlib, and black milk, it is all presented with seamless transitions in the style of a mixtape, and >mix takes< both showcases the bands individual talents and reflects the airtight performances that have made them one of the hottest live bands in detroit.

the few records started as an idea back in 2002, an idea of having an artist friendly detroit record label that did all genres of music with an underlying thread of quality. hence the motto of the label - no genres, just good music.
