the word ‘rave’ became sort of a metaphor. but back in the days, it was the name for the revolution, not less than that. warehouse memories was born to give a direction to that revolution, this is rave 002. forward strategy group join the warehouse side of arts with a brilliant debut, 4 cuts that gives an extra luxury level to your mixes.

for the second release on their black series, ravage invited electronic music veterans al matthews and patrick walker to team up under their forward strategy group moniker. the last release of these legends was quite a few years ago, but the wait was worth it. their east port rangers ep kicks-off with nine and one, a hypnotic, heavy-loaded stomper containing some uplifting, loopy vocals. following is the most minimalistic track of the ep, lisp your way, yet it still has a lot of substantial punch and lash to it. the b-side starts off with heavy broken beats, combined with a classic rave sound, taking the listener back to the blistering sound of the nineties. finally, the ep oozes down with the track in abeyance, a haunting, down-tempo track with a melody to send shivers down your spine, which could be deemed a real creeper.

perc trax unleashes the first of three vinyl eps showcasing the new tracks from the label’s tenth anniversary ‘slowly exploding’ compilation, mixing up label regulars with established names making their perc trax debuts. forward strategy group begin proceedings with the grinding broken beat rhythm of ‘dragons tooth’ before happa opens his perc trax account with a percussive assault that is amongst the most aggressive tracks on these three eps. martyn hare, another perc trax debutant, delivers the awakenings festival slaying ‘the new normal’ to kick off the b-side and us producers mick finesse and pinion team up for the first time on the b2 with the industrial amen groover that is ‘dead boyfriend alley’...

the duo behind forward strategy group returns with their first release in almost a year. following the success of the “labour division” album and “the new formal” ep (both on perc trax), al matthews (bleaching agent, half of blacknecks) and patrick walker have worked with max_m and his m_rec ltd. to bring three complex and hypnotic cuts to vinyl fans and djs around the world.

forward strategy group, one of perc traxs central acts return with their first ep since their debut album labour division was released in may of last year. since then they have gigged around europe including gigs at berlins two temples of techno, berghain and tresor and have had their album tracks remixed by uk industrial/synth fusionists factory floor and perc traxs man in athens, sawf.

perc trax is proud to unveil the 2nd 12inch to be taken from forward strategy groups debut album labour division. since its release at the end of may the album has received across the board dj support and press coverage with a 4/5 review from resident advisor and even a full page in the guardian about fsg and perc trax. the album has also had launch parties in amsterdam and london and has seen the fsg guys crossover outside of techno to be featured in the wider music press including the quietus and stool pigeon.

big support van oa. bas mooy, dvs1, perc, tommy four seven, go hiyama, paul mac and many more... just before the summer hits, were breaking it down with a massive techno bomb from the subs of scotland. this time its the mighty forward strategy group which will be responsible for some serious damage on the floor. the squad which delivered some amazing tunes for perc traxx and recently did a podcast for clr recordings are now up for a true banger on dynamic reflection. on this ep they split the force and bring both their own solo actions. smear takes over with >inert<, tweaking his synths into phased edges with a phat groove on top. the >retail & leisure< remix is more subdued and trips away with a smooth acid bassline through the track. on the b-side the other half of fsg. patrick walker smashes down the door with a more darker groove. pounding kickdrums, dark rhythms and smooth soundscapes is whats his recipe is for >phase linear<. this will definitely hit the big rooms!! boex & miller breaking down the beat in their rework, which makes the perfect balance for this ep. all n all a superior release by these gents and remix heavyweights. lets pray for more of this pure quality stuff and keep our eyes on the the future. the scene need more labels like this which reflects the current techno movement and promises loads more of that sweet stuff in days to come... dynamic reflection will represent only the true spirit of pure techno, they will put only the quality stuff back on the dancefloor!

forward strategy group follow up their seriously killer debut 12inch release >transect< with another fresh slab of monolithic, bass heavy techno entitled: >applied generics<. with support from surgeon, ben sims, marcel heese (tresor), samuli kemppi (berghain), grovskopa (token, audio assault) ++ applied generics has already booted a sizeable hole in the ceiling @ clubs worldwide. this new release was featured as part of ben sims and surgeons frequency 7 set on mary anne hobbs radio 1 show and as part of surgeons resident advisor podcast. the first offering is a skanking slice of techno with a shuffled re-sequenced edge delivering a cortex scrambling mess of barbed wire sounds wrapped around a linear, tracky beatstructure. this is a unique cut with a very distinct sound somewhere between berlin minimalism and dark wave uk techno. on the flip deep rumbling textures, ghostly tones and spectral, metalic chords lie in wait on the second offering, which takes on a more berlin influenced deep style pitching it somewhere in between basic channel and sandwell district. big

south london analogue material is back with the long awaited release from keepsakes. whadyyatalkinbout is a ruthless opener, its aggressive, distorted techno with all the keepsakes trademarks. the remix by bas mooy is a dance floor tool and has been doing the damage over the last few months. on the flip gorbs house is rough down tempo stomper with a naughty acid section and forward strategy group finish off with the b side remix giving the ep nice balance.
